Chapter 9

Alex POV

Peggy walked out of the dorm and just kinda shoved me inside without a word. Thanks lady.

When I stumble in I notice John on the couch with puffy red eyes.

"Were you crying?" I ask.

"Yeah. I'm worried that I messed everything up," he responds.

"Why? You didn't do anything wrong," I point out.

"But I thought I did because you freaked out and kinda ran into the hallway," John says.

"Because I thought I scared you away," I sign slowly.

John walks over and pulls me into a tight hug.

When he pulls away he signs, "You could never scare me away."

Then he kisses me. Again. And I kiss back.

A few moments of pure bliss and happiness before we both pull apart.

"Does this mean you'll go out with me?" He asks. I nod.

Boyfriend. I actually found someone who doesn't care that I can't talk. Granted, even if I could he wouldn't be able to hear so I mean-

I guess it worked out perfectly.

Then the group chat starts going off.

I put my phone away and see that Johns laughing as he also puts his away.

"Whats so funny?" I ask.

"I think they were more excited then we were," He points out.

I shrug and also start laughing.

These people are going to be the death of me.

Eliza POV

Thats it. I'm done for. Why did I ever think I had a chance? I mean he obviously likes John. Who else wouldn't be bothered in the slightest that he couldn't talk.

What better partner for a mute kid than a deaf kid.

I mean their disabilities don't effect eachother so why shouldn't they date?

Maybe its for the best that John got the boy.

Angelica POV

I know I've been acting completely normal but I never thought it would actually happen.

Why did I help set up the guy I like with someone else?

Who the hell does that?

Maybe it was just my way of coping with the fact that Alex would never date me.

Even if he didn't like John, he would probably date Eliza over me. I mean who wouldn't.

Im bossy and mean and Eliza is sweet and caring.

But John and Alex are meant for eachother. No doubt in my mind.

Laurens do not throw away your shot.
