06 - Christmas Cheer

You awoke to the sound of your familiar notification tune. It took you a moment to collect your thoughts to go from "Who the hell is waking me up," to "Holy crap, its Christmas!" You weren't usually very perky in the morning, in your house you were practically known for being a cranky person in the morning, but not today. Today was special, especially because today you would get to see him. You rolled on your back side and brought your phone to  your face seeing who the text was from, and as soon as you did a smile erupted from your face.

"Tobio," you whispered unlocking your phone to quickly answer him back just the sound of you saying his name caused your heart to squeeze.

Hey, (Y/N). Merry Christmas （＾_＾）
I wont be able to make it today, but I'll call you later, alright?

You swallowed reading the message over and over. He wasn't coming to get you? He even sent a cute emoticon because he knew you loved when he did it. That meant nothing if he wasnt able to see you. You were looking forward to it and now it kind of left an empty feeling in your heart. Either way, you had to reply or he would known something was wrong.

Ah, its okay we can just talk later. Merry Christmas to you too! 

You hit send although you felt some resentment in your heart. He didn't even send an "I love you, (´∀｀)♡," although he could hardly say it in public, over the phone when he couldn't see your face, it was extremely easy for him. He liked to see you happy, and things like that filled you with absolute joy.

You rolled over and put the cover over your head sulking. As soon as you did, your mother popped in the room yelling for you to come downstairs so everyone could enjoy the day together, but how could you enjoy it with a start to your day like that. You nodded to her with a, "Give me a second, please." And she had a little concerned look as she left without closing the door.

You felt your phone go off again, and couldn't help but have some hope that Kageyama changed his mind.

Are you okay? Do you want me to call you now? 

You looked at my previous text you hadn't added an emoticon. He saw right through it.

No, I really wanted to see you, OK ? But its fine. You're probably busy. You wouldn't cancel for anything. I know that. So its fine, enjoy your Christmas.

You sent the message and he quickly responded. Faster than he ever had before.

Its not okay, if you're mad at me, (Y/N)...

You groaned in anger. You were trying to be understanding a good girlfriend even. You just wanted for once to spend time with family and enjoy the day, but he was making it kind of hard. So, you just shoved your phone in your pocket and headed downstairs. You were going to enjoy Christmas with or without his company. Its just his company would make it better is all. You doubted him as well. He was probably with some girl. Who was prettier, and had a better figure. Someone who could keep up with him in volleyball as well.

You ate breakfast and opened a few gifts but you still had him messaging you and his "Its not okay if you're mad at me," nawing at the back of your head. Your family noticed but didn't say anything fearing it would only make you think about it more. The day turned dark and you changed clothes out of your pajamas into some leggings and a ugly but fluffy Christmas sweater, and you put on your boots. You were gonna take a little stroll. Look at some of the beautiful Christmas lights, cause why not. Maybe it would take your mind off things.

You took off after putting on some outerwear and walked down the road. Oooing and ahhhing but you were alone or more specifically without the one you loved. Your eyes started to burn and your breathing became heavy. You just wanted to see him for a second even. You wanted to hug him and tell him Merry Christmas in person. That was your wish. That's all you wanted right now. You wiped the cold tears off of your heated face as you wept. You hoped he wasnt cheating, you loved him too much for that. You wanted him so bad your heart hurt thinking about it.

"(Y/N)," you quickly turned at the sound of your name. Your eyes widened and a louder cry emerged from you. You ran toward him and he met you in the middle reaching out to pet you gently. You wrapped your arms around him squeezing him trying to take in all of him. His scent and the slight sweat on his body. The way he touched you and how his arms fit perfectly around you.

"What are you doing here?!" You finally yelled out. You tried to back up to look at him, but he stopped you pulling you closer. Your face heating up at the impact.

"I'm not suppose to be here, but I-I had to see you," he admitted in a whisper. He was probably blushing that's why he kept you in this tight embrace. You giggled smiling to yourself. Only you could make him quite like this.

"Tobio,"

"Hm?"

You quickly escaped his embraced but he managed to cover him face up with his hand. You laughed some more prying them from his face, finally managing to, you interlaced your fingers making him blush even more.

You then kissed him on the cheek and whispered a quick, "Thanks," in his ears. He looked away once more as you two started strolling down the street. You looked over to him every once in a while when a thought came across your brain.

"Why couldn't you spend the day with me, Tobio?" You curiously asked. He finally looked at you his eyes widening a little.

"I never told you? I had to take care of Hinata today, he's been sick all week so the team has been taking turns to help his family out. Today just happened to be given to me. Which is also why I don't have your present." You smiled and then nodded quickly looking away kind of embarrassed to think he was with someone else. Although, it only crossed your mind.

"Where'd you think I was?" He asked you guessed your reaction sparked his interest.

"With someone else," you quickly said and he immediately stopped in his tracks making you stop too. He just paused and you kinda felt bad.

"Really?" You kind of jumped to sound of his perfectly calm voice and looked at him. You immediately regretted it. He was giving you his famous scowl and a chill immediately ran up your spine. He'd never done that before to you. 

But just as quickly he pulled you into him, your heart almost fell out of you chest. His scent filled your nose and your face heated up. You looked up at him, but he still had that serious look on his face. Although, it had softened.

"Never. You get that, right? You're the only one." He looked like he was really trying to get you to understand. It probably hurt him to hear you say such things.

"I love you, I know. Its hard for me to say sometimes, but I do, (Y/N)." You smiled at his words and immediately put your hands on his face and pressed your lips against his own.

And in that moment you truly felt in the Christmas spirit. Your heart fluttered. You could practically feel the twinkling lights around you two, and it only added to the moment. You were surprised as he kissed you back, probably still trying to prove his point or because your kiss was so sweet you both couldn't get enough. When you finally pulled away, and he realized how his hands had been roamingyour figure his face heated up and he covered his adorable face with his hands once more.

You couldn't help but laugh at the cute sight, "Merry Christmas, Tobio!" You yelled jumping on him and wrapping your arms around his neck.

"Merry Christmas, (Y/N)..." You still heard him even through his cute little mumble.
