Sophie (again whoops):
"YOU KNOW WHAT IT IS?" Everyone seemed to shout at once.
"I'm not positive...but I think so. And if you all stop glaring at me, I can tell you." Della said, pointedly looking at Fitz, who I had momentarily forgotten about.
With all this recent chaos, I hadn't remembered to think of my other friends. At least Fitz and I had already broken up—I had already had to face his jealousy over me spending time with Keefe too many times. Besides, there is nothing going on between me and Keefe I thought, trying not to remember how I had felt with him at Disneyland.
Della sighed again, bringing me out of my embarrassing off-track thoughts. "Alden was in love with someone else, before me." She began. I saw Keefe's eyes widen.
"Alden told me about them." He whispered to me. I hadn't realized how close we were sitting—there was barely any room left so we had all had to cram onto the sofa.
"He was devastated when she decided to marry someone else." Della paused, making eye contact with Keefe. "Your dad."
"WHAT?" Keefe yelled, standing up so rapidly I nearly fell of the couch. "You're telling me ALDEN WAS IN LOVE WITH MY MOM?"
"I-yes." Della said quietly. "Now, this was back when no one had heard of the Neverseen, or of any type of awful doings in the Lost Cities."
I felt sick remembering how Alden had convinced me that the arsonists in San Diego were not elves. He had made me trust him, and all along he had been working against us.
"He loved Gisela, and she had feelings for him as well. But as you know, she wanted to marry someone who would make for a powerful child. So she chose the most powerful empath she knew—Cassius. The thing was, she never liked Cassius as much as Alden. And Alden never liked me as much as Gisela. I might not be an empath, but I could tell." Della's face was clouded with sadness, but she continued.
"A while ago, maybe soon after Biana was born, Alden became very curious in the Moonlark. He began leaving more often, and as you know, traveled to the Forbidden Cities. I assume that is when he was with the Neverseen. He had Alvar help him, and most likely brought him in. You see, I began to get suspicious. I had never heard of the Moonlark, and to be honest, I had trouble figuring out why Alden was so intent on finding you, Sophie. Alden was an Emissary, a job of power that was not worth losing. And this is where I began to sense a change in him." Della shifted her eyes to the floor.
"One day, I decided to try something. I told Alden that I was going to shop at Atlantis, but instead I hid in the yard. Soon, Fallon arrived. I was shocked to see him, as you know he is quite reclusive and had not been seen for many, many years. I was too far to hear their conversation, but this was enough to convince me that Alden was doing something in secret. I decided to investigate, and I found out some crucial information in Alden's office—information from when Fallon was in the Council, secrets that are kept from everyone."
"You see, Fallon did not leave the council, he was banished." A collective gasp ran across the room. "He did not agree with their thoughts, and he made that very clear. Fallon believed in ultimate power for the elves, as many others believe is best. And as you may have realized, those are also the thoughts of the Neverseen."
Biana gasped. "Does that mean that he was—or is—in the Neverseen?" She asked, panic on her face.
"I'm saying that if I am correct—I believe Fallon created the Neverseen." Della corrected.

Aaaaaah sorry for not writing in so LONG guys! I have not had much time to write and this was a pretty complicated chapter to write...I kinda didn't realize that by ending the last chapter that way I'd have to answer for Della...this has been stressful 😂 Hopefully I'll update within the next few days, we're getting to the end of this short story! Have a lovely day/night everyone :D
