Y/N's Point Of View

The sound of tapping shoes filled the noiseless hallway, a two minute walk ahead of us until we meet our destination. We walked side by side at a fairly slow pace, almost too slow.

"Thanks for not running away on us," Monika said the untimely dialogue.

I squinted my eyes, almost impressed by how useless that scripted dialogue was now. "You know, I already told you how much I love literature and how much I love the club already. What gave you the impression I'd run away?"

She looked at me sideways with a troubling expression, it reminded me of her sprite with the sweat drop. "Yeah, that was a pretty redundant question too... I guess I feel the need to say it, ahaha, since you're a new member and all," she said nervously, "I'll try to be more mindful of what I say from now on."

I shrugged. As we walked in silence, I remembered that intense look she gave to Sayori yesterday. Maybe I wasn't impactful enough in the music room. She may still tamper with the code. I could always tell her outright, but the outcome still scares me. What would she do?

If I told her I was from the real world, would she even believe me? If she does believe me, then what? If she decided to destroy the world in response, I can't do anything. I'm not behind a screen anymore.

"We're almost there." Her eyes gazed into the distant halls solemnly.

I nodded. I don't know what to say... "Um, I'd like to spend more time with you, if possible."

Monika stopped in the middle of the hallway, causing me to stop and look back. Her eyes are wide and her mouth was closed speechless. "...that'd be nice. Yeah, I'd really like that." Monika smiled effulgently.

I smiled back with equal radiance. "So, don't go doing anything brash, okay?"

She tilted her head innocently. "What do you mean by that?"

"Oh, I don't know..." I tried to leave it at that. I didn't know how to tell her subtly, not on such short notice.

"I don't get what you're getting at here, (Y/N). If I'm missing something, I'd like to know." Behind her smile, I can still pick up on her suspicion of me. She really is determined to find out more about the player, and if I'm possibly sentient or self-aware.

I needed to change the topic. I'm also skeptical on whether that was enough to stop her from tampering with the files still. I decided to take it up a notch. "Monika, I'll be straight with you. I want to spend the most time with you out of all the girls in the Literature Club." Okay, that sounded like a straight up confession. "I- I mean, uh..."

I'm always thinking of ways to approach the girls on odd topics and to be ready for any scenarios and know the right words to say, but that felt too upfront!

As if she wasn't already speechless from before, she looked at me in awe, taking in what was said. "A-Ah, I didn't know you felt that way. That actually kinda makes me glad." Her face was tinted red, just enough for me to notice. "I feel the same too. If you'd like, we can spend time together outside of the club~" Monika does her signature leaning pose, gazing into my eyes longingly. Her suggestion sounded almost desperate. It breaks my heart remembering how lonely she was in the game.

I feel my face heat up ever so slightly as I think about what the suggestion entails. Not to mention how cute her leaning pose is. I look away bashfully. "Sure, whenever works for you. I don't really have plans after school besides the club."

Monika smirked triumphantly, our halt in the hallway coming back to a slow walk again. "Okay, I'll come up with the plans soon." She chuckled to herself. "I'll try to make it worth your while. So I hope you look forward to it!"
