Dark. Dark. Dark. I was conscious but I couldn't bring myself to open my eyes. My head was still spinning but I tried to open my eyes.

Ok. Here I go. 1. 2. 3.

I opened my eyes slowly.

Brightness shocked me and I blinked rapidly to adjust.

Wow what a sight.

Hovering over me was a buff man with long blonde hair and a red cape--- wait I saw him! Fighting on the street! The fight, oh my gosh. It's all coming back.

Also hovering over me was Tony Stark without his Iron Man suit, the man in red white and blue with a shield, a sleeveless man with arrows and spikey hair, and a ginger woman with firey red hair in a catsuit. Ok this is trippy. I probably hit my head way too hard.

I was about to drift off back to sleep, but then I heard.

"She's awake!"

I looked to see who spoke. It was the very patriotic guy with a shield.

"Yeah no duh." said Tony Stark.

"Let's let her go home now. She's just wasting space" said the ginger lady.

Wow thanks.

"No Tasha... We should double check with Bruce. She may be banged up still." said the man with spikey hair and no sleeves.

"Wh-where am I?" I said softly.

They all snapped their attention to me. Looking surprised. Jeez, I can talk.

"Kid. You're in Stark Towers. You're safe. You hit your head... hard. You've been out cold for two days."

TWO DAYS?

"B-b-b-but how? Why?" I asked.

"You don't remember?" asked the buff blonde with a red cape.

"Well... I remember the beam of light. People running. The scary dark warriors! It almost killed me! But.. I was saved. By... that THING!"

Tony Stark blinked.

"That thing..." he muttered.

The rest of them looked down at their feet.

"What WAS that?" I asked.

"The thing... who knocked the warrior out of the way. Who saved me! It was BIG. It was GREEN!" I was rambling.

"Don't worry about that now kid. Ummm what's your name?" asked the sleeveless man with spikey hair.

"Skylar... Skylar Bradley."

"Hello Skylar. I am agent Clint Barton of Shield. This is agent Natasha Romanoff, Tony Stark, Thor of Asgard, and Steve Rogers."

"Oh…Hi?" was all I could say.

"She needs rest. Get Banner in here..." said Steve Rogers the man in red white and blue.

"Alright... Take it easy Skylar." said Tony Stark.

They all left the room.

I sat up a bit. My head ached at the action.

I heard the door open.

"Miss. Bradley. How are you feeling?" I hear.

I turn. It was the man at the shop! The man who bought the scooter. Weird?

"You! Um hi? You.. you bought a scooter from the shop..."

"I did." he smiled.

"How... What.."

"I'll explain everything in time, Miss. Bradley. But right now you need medical attention... Which I will be providing. I'm Dr. Bruce Banner." he held out his hand.

I shook it firmly. I took my hand back. Something had rubbed off his hand...

Blue ink.

The number I wrote on his hand.. Blue ink.. Blue ink was on the monster's hand. That... that thing. It's HIM? No it can't be. That monster was massive, green, and fierce. This man is anything but that!

"YOU WERE THE MONSTER." I cried out.

His mouth dropped. But he quickly closed it again. He looked taken back for a moment. Did I say something? Oh no...

He gave a warm smile.

"Yes. That was me." he replied calmly.

"Oh... I'm sorry for saying it like that um.. But. Thank you. So much... You saved me, Dr. err Banner?"

"You're welcome."  he said with a nice smile. I couldn't help but smile myself.

He placed his hand on my head. I shivered at his touch. He felt warm. He felt.. safe. Not at all like the green creature that fought off the warriors.

He removed his hand and glanced up at a computer screen, then back to me.

"Your head has gone through a lot of stress and I don't know if you've been told already, but you kind of had a mini coma for two days." he said.

"Yeah.. they informed me on that." I said looking down at my hands.

"You appear a lot better though and your vital signals are good. Right now you still have some head trauma and a severed back, because you fell on your back when you passed out."

"Oh.. um yeah I remember that." I shuddered at the memory of the dark warrior. But they were gone now right? What were they? Why were they even here? I hesitated whether I should ask Dr. Banner.

"Um. What were those things?" I asked.

"The things that were attacking?"

"Yeah…"

He inhaled slowly. Then let it out.

"Those things are.. well were. Called the Chitauri. They aren't from here." he murmured.

"Oh?" Well that didn't really help.

"Why were they here? Why were they attacking?" I wanted to know, but my head started making my dizzy. I leaned back on the bed. I still had so many questions. Like, when could I go home?

"You need rest Miss. Bradley. But I promise I'll answer all your questions in time." Dr. Banner said as he scribbled some notes down on a clipboard and typed away at a computer. He turned to face me once more. I couldn't help but notice his unruly dark brown hair and warm brown eyes. His lips were full and he had perfect white teeth. He interrupted my thoughts by saying,

"Can I get you anything right now?"

I shook my head. He was right, I wanted to sleep. It took a lot of strength for me to mumble

"Thank you again Dr. Banner…" I was already drifting off to sleep.

"Call me Bruce." I heard him say, and I could tell he was smiling.

"Bruce…" I whispered quietly to myself as I drifted off to sleep. Dreaming of warm brown eyes and dark brown hair...
