"Business couple Ashton Cordello of Cordello Builders and Sariah Esquivel of Esquivel Group cancelled their nuptial one week prior the wedding date"

Nanlaki ang mata ko sa headline na bumungad sa akin. Paano nila nalaman?! It has only been two days since my talk with Ash. Ang alam ko pamilya pa lang namin ang may alam. Bakit may ganito agad?!

I hurriedly read the article. Hinilot ko ang sintido ko pagkababa ng dyaryo.

"Consequence of being linked to a Cordello," my dad stated as a matter of fact. He even took a sip from his coffee.

Alam ko naman na posible 'tong mangyari. I just can't help but to be shock because of how fast it reached them!

But I guess the media really have their ways.

Lalo pa't kilala talaga ang mga Cordello sa buong bansa.

Well, kilala din naman kami. But they're on a different level. Other that being a clan of businessmen and businesswomen, ang ilan din kasi sa kanila ay pumasok na sa entertainment industry.

Kagaya ni Tamara, she's labeled as the box-office queen of today's generation. Ynoah on the other hand is dominating the race track. He's even being sent to other countries to represent the country. Idagdag pa na ilang beses din naging cover ng magazines ang pamilya nila.

The Cordello is literally on top of the food chain. Kaya naman bawat kilos nila ay inaantabayan ng lahat.

At eto nga.

"Hindi lang ako makapaniwala kung paano kaagad nila nalaman, daddy." I took a bite from my bread and chewed it forcefully. "And do they really need to write an article about us?!" reklamo ko pa.

Kung tutuusin pa nga, sa mga Cordello, si Ash ang pinaka-ilag sa media!

"Hayaan mo lang, anak. That's how they earn money. Sooner or later malalaman din naman talaga nila."

"I know dad, nakakainis lang talaga."

"The news will eventually die down, Sadie," he assured me.

Because of that news article, everyone in the company is talking about me and Ash. As soon as I took a step inside the company, I can feel the employees giving me stares of pity. They probably though it was Ashton's fault because of his past playful image.

Nang pinasadahan ko silang tingin ay sila naman ang umiwas. I managed to keep a straight face until I reached my office.

Pero nabigo akong panatiliin yun pagdating sa meeting room. Sakto kasing may meeting ako kasama ang members of board.

I wasn't able to avoid questions about the news. When I confirmed it, they frankly expressed their disappointment with how things turned out between me and Ash. Since there would be no marriage that will take place, it means that the merging will not push through too.

Everyone is expecting for the merging for quite a long while. Sobra kasing makakatulong sana ang kumpanya ni Ash sa amin. At dahil alam talaga ni Ashton ang pasikot-sikot sa sa industriyang 'to, the boards believe that it would be the best if I would have him as my spouse to guide me.

"I don't think there's a need to explain my private life to you," hindi ko napigilang sagutin ang isa kanila. Masyado na kasing nangingialam sa buhay ko. He's acting like the company couldn't stand on its own without the Cordellos!

I leaned my back on my swivel seat when I return back to my office. I breathe in and out repeatedly to calm down my nerves.

"Okay ka lang?" My eyes opened when I heard Theo's deep voice. Kakapasok niya lang sa office ko. His brown eyes is filled with worry.
