Harry's P.O.V
I was driving back home when I saw a figure walking ahead of me as I moved closer, I recognized her. She was Kate. I looked at my watch it was past midnight. What was she doing she left like an hour ago, she should be home by now ,it's not safe for her to be here at this time
I stopped the car,when I reach near her
"What the hell are you doing here? "
She looked at me , she looked scared but her expression changed as soon as she saw me "It's you" She said looking a bit relaxed
"Do you know the time? " I said
"Yeah" She casually replied
" It's past midnight and you left an hour ago. Why are you still here" I asked
" Just having a stroll in the midnight you see " She said sarcastically
"Well I see. We are feeling sarcastic today . Just get in I am too tired to indulge in all this". I said in an annoyed voice
" I just completed a five hours shift, serving drinks. But of course you are tired "
"You know what slave, have fun on your 9 mile stroll back home" I said starting the engine
"Okay, okay sorry."
"Somebody seems to come back to their senses. What happened you need a ride? "
"No I want to stand here, counting the stars. "She murmered
"What did you said." I growled
"Nothing."she said pulling the door of the car
I locked the door from my end. She glared at me
"If you want to get in ask for it nicely"
"Can I please get in".
"Sure " I said with a smirk, unlocking the door.
She sat at the passanger seat
"Now. Tell me what are you still doing here" I asked driving
"I was at the bus stop waiting. I waited almost half an hour ,but no bus came. Then I opened my mobile app to check when will the next bus arrive, and I find out there is a bus and taxi strike tonight"
"So you just decided to walk all the way home, 9 miles"
"No first ,I thought about calling the pilot to come with my private chopper and pick me up"she said sarcastically
I glared at her, which made her shut up for a moment
"Yeah I decided to walk. I didn't have any other option."She said
"What about the option of calling me"
"I thought you will be mad at me"
"Why would you think I would be mad"
" I don't know, you are always mad at me " She said in a sad voice
I felt a bit guilty knowing she was right
"Plus I knew Emily is going away tomorrow morning so I don't want to disturb you two ,by the way why are you not with her . I thought you two won't leave each others side till her plane take off." She said looking at me with a questioning look
"It's none of your business" I said rudely
"Sorry. "
None of us said anything for another 5 minutes.
"You should have anyway called me. It is not safe for a girl to walk home alone in a lonely road especially at this hour.that was pretty stupid. "I said, breaking the silence
"I am not stupid. I can take care of myself ,have been doing that from last four years and anyway I was more safe out in the road, than in the party with the bullies" She said in a serious tone
I felt bad for blackmailing her. I technically bullied her to attend the party I always tell the guys in football team to not be like the drama club bullies ,and I turned out just like them that too bullying my own cousin
"I should not have blackmailed you to work at the party " I said
"Is that an apology. Is the great Harry Carter trying to apologize to his slave"she said smiling
"No, I am just saying that I will not do that again"
" FYI if you add a 5 letter word starting from s and ending with y to what you said earlier it becomes an apology " She said sarcastically
"Just shut up " I said
"Okay" She said smilling
"By the way I was prepared you know for any danger. I have this " She said pulling a paper cutter from her pocket
"You are even more stupid than I thought you are. If that was your weapon against bad guys with more muscles and knives and guns". I said laughing
She just rolled her eyes but said nothing.
Kate's P.O.V
My eyes open with the annoying sound of my alarm at 6 am. I was super tired from last night. I wish I could just lay in my bed all day long and do nothing , if I was Cinderella I would have asked a one day holiday from my fairy godmother instead of some prince
But my story is kind of different from Cinderella instead of an evil step mother I got an aunt and uncle instead of two evil step sister I have one cousin. Unfortunately no fairy godmother exist which make my story not a fairy tale it doesn't have the most important element magic
I woke up and started with my daily chores, Sunday was actually not a bad day Aunt Lily snd Uncle Damien spend the whole day at the club and Harry usually hangs out with his jock friends or Emily. I have my extra chores like gardening, laundry but I like it as no one is there to yell at me
"Is Harry still asleep. " Uncle Damien asked
"Yeah, I guess" I said
" He came home late last night. I told you ,remember his girlfriend's family is moving away today. "Aunt Lily said
"Oh yeah. Let's have a family dinner at club tonight ,I was gonna tell him now ,but I will tell him tonight"
"He won't be very happy with the news ,you know"
" He is not a little boy, Lily. He knows what is important and what is not. Kate when Harry wakes up tell him to join us at the club at 7 pm." Uncle Damien said
"Yeah sure" I replied
" Actually you should also join us. We can tell both of you together "Uncle Damien said looking at me
" Me, are you sure, you want me there" I asked
" Yes, are you deaf, be there at 7 and wear something decent don't embarass us tonight. " Aunt Lily replied insulting me as usual
"Yeah, okay" I said
This was weird, it has never happened before. And I am not a big fan of something different it usually turns out to be bad but I was curious to know what is the big news they wanted to share
