"Mackenzie, you should be done eating by now" Tasha shouted

"Be down in a sec mum."

"We've got to go we have a long journey ahead."

"Coming mum" Mackenzie replied

"Zendaya, is this box important?" Tom said pointing to it

"Sure dad,"

Zendaya's POV

"Excited about this dear?" My dad asked

I glanced at him and faced the window

"Zendaya" My mum barked

"What? Why should I? It wasn't my idea to leave. I wanted to stay back, you know I did"

"I've always told you that life comes with challenges, you have to adjust. That's why you're Human" He replied

"What the hell" I muttered

"You'll make new friends if that's why you're upset" He added

"Of course not dad. I know I'll make new friends but it can never be like Chicago"

"Okay, enough of this," My mum said

I rolled my eyes.

Kenzie slept almost the whole journey. She's excited about the move and I wonder why. Born in Chicago, I'm accustomed to the city. The lights at night, my friends, the smell of the house, the mall and everything. I recall the scene I put up when I got the BAD news. I thought I could convince my dad but I got it wrong. Saying goodbye to my friends was the hardest thing I've ever done. We all lived on the same street and attended the same school. High school was great, we planned to go to the same college but here I am in this Uber, driving away from the plan.

After what seems like an eternity, we arrived at the house. It's beautiful but I see it as an unattractive one (probably because I'm angry). My mom keeps admiring its beauty and it makes me so mad.

My dad, on the other hand, is okay with all he sees. It's a two storey building painted  grey with a black roof. The exterior is adorned with various flowers, trees behind and a garage. The lawn is perfectly mowed and orange colored leaves are on it due to the season of the year.

Downstairs is painted white, it consists of a big living room, kitchen, laundry and the pantry. The kitchen is big and is designed in a way that it leads to the living room but, there's a wall separating them from each other. The living room has a grey rug spread across the brown hardwood. Upstairs on the other hand, is grey and has all the rooms on its floor. There are four rooms, mine. Kenzie's, my parents and the guest room. The stairway is exquisite and has black railings for support. A  medium-sized chandelier is hanging down the white ceiling. Its remote is placed inits case on the wall. The verandah has flower pots and lights. Fresh air is moving fast there and it has two chairs for comfort.

In the living room

"I'll take the bigger room" Kenzie stated

"We've talked about this dear, take the room next to us while Zen takes this" My dad responded

"No, I don't like that room. I prefer this" She screamed

"Tom let her have it" My mum put forward

"Thank you, at least someone understands how I feel" She added

"Whatever as far as I am comfortable you ladies can't sort yourselves out" My dad stated

"Do you guys expect me to watch while all this goes on" I stated

"Be matured, Zendaya" My mum reacted

"Stop treating Mackenzie like a child that she isn't" I put forward

'I'll be in the bathroom" My dad declared and left

"Look, we're here with a clean slate. It'll take time to adjust, I know that. That's why we should have each other's back. I know you're mad Zen (my mum put her hand on my shoulder). This house is beautiful, enjoy it. We'll be fine" She stated

'"I hate New York" I shouted

"Lunch will be served in an hour folks" Mum added and left to the kitchen

This is insane, Kenzie is getting on my nerves. My Parents are acting as if everything is normal. This sucks. I'm going to do what I do best when I'm mad ,go for a run.
