For once in my life
With all of my soul
With all of the energy that sustains me
I prayed for an Inspiration.
I prayed for strength.
I prayed for a way to keep going. To move. To fight to move forward.
For the ones that I love.
For the hopes and dreams that I can't quite grasp.
For the things I don't have the strength to do.
I hoped.
And I prayed.
To the Universe and beyond.
To whatever God or Pantheon thereof that would listen.
To Heaven.
To Hell.
To Myself.
I prayed to live.
I prayed to fight.
I prayed for the strength to survive.
And amidst my prayer,
The city ruins sang.
Perhaps. . .
Just this once. . .
My stubbornness will rise
And I can have another chance. . .
