(Idk why I'm writing this, I just saw this pin, and thought I would make a OneShot out of it)

You ran into your room in the homestead, falling onto your bed and crying into your pillow. It was becoming to much to handle. The maze, the grievers, being surrounded by boys and having no one to talk to. It was to much.

You were having a breakdown because you just overheard Minho's conversation with Alby and Newt that there was no way out of the maze. There had to be a way out... didn't there? Maybe the runners hadn't explored all of the outer Sections? A sob escapes your lips at the thought because you know it isn't possible. The runners had mapped every section of the maze. They hadn't missed anything.

Your sobs are muffled by your pillow as you curl into a ball on your bed. You cry and cry until your pillow is soaking wet with your tears, and your eyes are red and swollen. All you wanted was someone to be there for you, but you know none of the boys would understand. They wouldn't get it. And they would think you were stupid and weak if you told them how you really felt.

Eventually your tears stop, and your left sniffling on your bed. You sit up, wiping your eyes and rubbing the tear streaks off your face. Taking a deep shaking breath, you sit up straight, preparing to walk back outside and have a smile on your face. It's what you always did.

A few heaving coughs escape your lips as you catch your breath, standing up and walking to the door. You wipe your eyes, clearing your throat and tightening your ponytail. You take one more deep breath before walking out of your room and out of the homestead.

It's time for dinner, so you jog to the kitchens, grabbing a plate from Frypan and sitting down with your friends. Across from you is Minho, Ben, and Newt, while Chuck and Alby are sitting next to you. You join in their conversation about how the builders are going to be fixing up the roof of the homestead, laughing along whenever someone makes a joke. You pick at your food, a fake but convincing smile on your face as they continue to talk.

Suddenly your lost in thought, staring off into space while thinking about nothing and everything all at once. A frown makes its way onto your lips as you remember what Minho had told Alby and Newt earlier that day.

Flashback

"There's no way out. We've looked everywhere. What should we do," Minho asked. You were standing outside of the map room. You had been looking for Alby, but then you decided to eavesdrop when they started to talk about the maze.

Alby gives a long deep sigh, and you can just imagine the look on his face. Upset but heartbroken. "We can't tell them. They need to think there's still a way out. Keep running everyday. No one can know," he says.

It's silent for a minute before three boys walk out of the map room. You jump behind a tree, hoping no one saw you as Alby, Minho, and Newt come through the door outside. Your head peeks out from your hiding place, looking back to see a frustrated but sad Newt. He's running his fingers through his hair profusely, his frustrated habit when Alby stops in front of him and puts a hand on his shoulder.

"It's for the best," he tells the Second-in-Command, making Newt look up at him. He sighs, nodding his head solemnly before Alby pats his shoulder and walks off with Minho. You turn so your chest is against the tree instead of your back, but you step on a twig as your moving, and Newts head shoots up. You try to hide your whole body behind the tree, holding your breath, hoping he wouldn't come over to investigate.

He stays silent for a minute, breathing heavy before sighing again and walking back to the fields to work with Zart. You let out the breath you were holding, panting heavily at the new information you just discovered. Before you could start crying and sobbing, you ran back to your room in the homestead.
