- L.G.D. Headquarters, 0300 hours \ Windy | Days later... -
"Question: How exactly will three people who are essentially considered outlaws in Lungmen be able to enter an LGD facility, their headquarters no less?" Splinter questions Odpis who is driving the car they are using as they head to the headquarters of the LGD.
"Don't worry, Splinty. Hoshi sent me bar codes than we can give to the security by the gate. The codes work, we go in. Simple." Odpis replies while turning the car to another direction.
It is the day that they receive their instructions for the operation that they will be undertaking with oversight of the LGD. No one knows what will it be all about, but considering the fact that they are hiring mercenaries likely so that they won't be blamed in the event that they get discovered, it must be something big.
Regardless, the three former agents have been to dire situations numerous times and came out relatively unscathed. As long as the money is good, business will always be business. That said, the three will take on the contract solely for the money, even if one of them is very hesitant about it.
"What if the codes don't work? For all we know, it's a bait in disguise so we get captured." Splinter retorts, unconvinced that the LGD would be willing to work with mercenaries like them.
"We'll be fine. Hoshi isn't the type to double-cross people she consider friends." Odpis says.
"Friends?!"
"Look, Splinter, if they wanted to capture mercenaries using this bait, they could've did the same with Penguin Logistics." Torrent who is at the back seat tells Splinter.
"Not you too, Torrent." Splinter says.
"What? Don't you trust this entire thing?" Torrent inquires. Splinter scoffs.
"Well, obviously. I don't trust anyone, and I mean anyone in the higher ups here in Lungmen. Not one bit." Splinter replies while refocusing his sights on the road.
"We've worked for the most powerful crime boss before." Torrent tells the Sarkaz.
"The Rat King is different. We worked for him just to get a strong source of income but he provided us with more than what we need." Splinter argues.
"To be fair, he was the only real option we had when we came here other than Penguin Logistics. And because they're different things, were kind of in the borderline separating criminals and Messengers." Torrent replies.
"Besides, we've worked with Hoshi before. I know that she's someone who really cares about her friends." Odpis adds up.
"I don't think we can consider two hours of teeth-clenched teamwork as a way to be friends with, what, the Inspector of the LGD?" Splinter questions again. "But I guess we can make an exception with her, since she's the one who personally came to us."
"Twice now too, including today." Torrent adds.
They soon arrive at the L.G.D. headquarters. Odpis handed the guards at the gate her phone with the bar codes that Hoshiguma have them. The guards scan it and it checks out. They hand Odpis her phone back before letting them through.
After parking the car, the three of them went inside and entered the lobby where an L.G.D. junior officer is waiting for them.
"You Praetor Squad?" The agent who is a Lupo asks them.
"That's us. We on time?" Torrent asks the agent.
"Quite. Call me Esil." The L.G.D. agent known as Esil replies as he shook their hands.
