Six weeks later, Olivia and the baby were both doing much better. Olivia had started to gain the proper enough amount of weight to support her baby, and the baby was looking right on track and maybe even a little bigger for being sixteen weeks.
"Are you ready to go home today?" Elliot smiled, as he packed up his wife's stuff so they could leave after her ultrasound.
"I am so ready to be home... I didn't expect to have to stay this long. But I got worse before getting better." Olivia frowned.
"I'm just glad that you and our kid are doing better." Elliot smiled. He sat Olivia's bag at the foot of her bed before moving up to where she laid. He pulled the blanket down and splayed his hand across her belly. He smiled at her before leaning close and kissing her softly.
"I didn't know if I'd ever feel connected to this baby or love it... but I love her so much," Olivia whispered as tears slipped down her cheeks.
"I love her too, Liv. She's going to be born into a family that loves her like crazy. And a niece that is going to be older than her, but that will be her best friend. Hopefully."
"You two keep calling that baby a girl when it could very well be a boy." Dr. Dixon smiled, as she walked into the room.
"We already have two girls, we are just assuming this one is too." Olivia smiled.
"I'll determine that." Dr. Dixon smiled. She walked over and started to prepare things, as Elliot walked around to the other side of the bed and held his wife's hand.
Over the last several weeks they had heard their baby's heartbeat but hadn't seen him or her. It really put them on edge since they didn't know if when they saw their baby for the first time if he or she would be healthy.
"This is going to be cold, but you should be used to it by now." Dr. Dixon spoke, as she squeezed the gel onto Olivia's stomach. Then she took the wand and started to do the ultrasound.
She measured the baby's head, arms, and legs along with making sure his or her heart was working properly. Once she was done with that, she could determine the gender of the baby.
Olivia and Elliot had a hard time deciding if they wanted to know this time around since they hadn't with Alexis and Ivy, but after the rough start they had they knew that they wanted to know.
"It's a boy." Dr. Dixon smiled, and Olivia and Elliot looked at her blankly.
"Huh?" Olivia questioned.
"It's a boy. Most of the time, depending on the gender of your child, that can cause the differences in your pregnancy. He's just giving you hell." Dr. Dixon spoke, as she pointed at the screen and at where the little boy was showing off.
"Holy shit." Elliot smiled, as he looked down at his wife.
"Oh god." Olivia breathed.
"Liv?" Elliot asked as he watched her chest rise and fall faster than it had in a while.
"Olivia, calm down." Dr. Dixon spoke, as a few of the monitors started to beep like crazy.
"I think she's panicking. She gets like this sometimes." Elliot spoke worriedly.
"I'm going to put her on some oxygen and get her calmed down."
{ooo}
Olivia laid on her side as tears slipped down her cheeks. She was still on oxygen, and Dr. Dixon pushed her release back until later that evening so she could watch her and make sure her little episode doesn't happen again.
"Liv?" Elliot questioned softly, as he sat down in front of his wife. He reached out and rubbed a tear from her cheek with the pad of his thumb.
"You should go home," Olivia whispered as she closed her eyes tightly.
