The weekend went by pretty fast like it always does so that meant going back to school.
Walking into school was never fun for Paloma or Erick but especially not for Paloma.
Erick looked over at his friend with sadness as they both made their way to their lockers. Paloma let out a big sigh
"What's wrong" Erick asked
"Everyone's looking at me" the girl said looking down
"I thought you would be used to it by now"
"Well I'm not it doesn't feel nice"
"Look Paloma sometimes you just have to ignore the stares" The boy said putting his hand on Paloma's shoulder
"Don't you think I want to? Don't you think I've tried? Everyone takes me for a hoe and a slut and I'm supposed to just ignore them?"
"You can't control what people think mami"
"Whatever"
They walked in silence for a while until Paloma started smirking and blushing
"Hey did I tell you about Joel?"
"here we go again" thought Erick to himself
"Umm no what about him?"
"Well he asked me to go on a date with him tomorrow night"
Erick couldn't help but feel bad for himself,it seemed like every boy was confident enough to ask out Paloma except for him.
"Th-That's great"
"I know! I think he might be the one!"
"Yeah and so was Austin and Diego and Mark"
"Ok I get it! But I'm serious this time"
"Paloma don't you think you should take a break from boys? I mean you have a new boyfriend every week." Questioned the green eyed boy
"Erick it's not my fault I'm the prettiest girl at school and that every boy has a crush on me"
Erick has always thought Paloma was beautiful but she for sure wasn't THE prettiest girl at their school and all the guys she dated never had a crush on her they just wanted to use her for sex.
"Paloma I-" he got cut off by Paloma running off into Joels arms. He couldn't say he enjoyed that scene.
"Hey baby" Paloma cooed
"Hey" said Joel
"You know my friend" said Paloma gesturing towards Erick
"I uhh yeah heeeyyyy yoouuuu" said Joel punching Ericks shoulder in a playful manner.
Joel clearly had no idea who Erick was
"I'm Erick Joel I've been in your class since kindergarten"
"Ohh right you're the one who Sandra Gonzales beat up freshman year" Joel stated as him and Paloma laughed
Erick cringed remembering the incident
"Umm yeah that's me"
"Hey don't feel bad Emanuel it happens to all of us"
"It's Erick"
"Yeah that's what I said" Joel said brushing him off
"Paloma we should get to class" Erick said trying to get away from Joel
"Oh I'm not going to class I'm ditching with Joel"
"Yeah and speaking of which we gotta go now see you later Ethan"
"It's Erick"
"Whatever"said Joel as they started walking towards the schools exit
Erick watched as the two walked away hand in hand. His heart aching with every step they took
