Chapter Two

Hailey

Hailey arrive at her workplace earlier than she used to since she doesn't have to drop Taylor off for school first

Hailey is working as a Scientist and Research assistance in the R&D department in Hollis pharmacy and sometimes she has to work overtime, from a young age, she always wanted to be a scientist and she really happy her dreams finally come true

"Hailey!!" She heard her friend call her name and she recognized the voice

Hailey turn and she sees Jessica walking towards her and waving her hand along the way "You arrive early this morning, that's unusual"

"Yeah I don't have to drop Taylor off at school today, my sister take him with her so I have plenty of time to myself" Hailey smile

"That's nice to hear, back then you always look so exhausted in the morning" Jessica said while smiling

Hailey recalled the first few months when she just started her work here, how she used to feel overwhelmed with her works and taking care of her only son

Sometimes being a single mother can be pretty tiring as she rarely has time for her own fun and has to take care of her child and to be honest she missed her own free time

"Hey since your sister takes care of Taylor today, how about we go out tonight? I need a friend to hang out these days and honestly I kind of miss you" Jessica ask her

Hailey pondering for a second, she probably has time to having fun for a while "I guess I can go out with you today!" Hailey answer in excitement, she never admits it out loud but she missed going out with her friends

If only Stacy here with her.... She missed her best friend so much but sadly the situation between them is going to be more awkward from now on

"Greaaattt!! so after work, we can go to the bar or something!! I'm going to take a few of our workmates! Let's have a party and get drunk, girl!!" Jessica said with the same excitement as her but then frown when Hailey shake her head at her

"No!! Taylor maybe with my sister today and I may be having a lot of free time today but I still have to pick him up later from my sister place and you know I don't have time to party and I absolutely never ever going to drinking again" She answers immediately

After she had Taylor she made a promise to herself to never drink alcohol again and even if she ever drink one, she always makes sure to stop drinking before she gets drunk

She has too much responsibility to protect and take care of her son well-being and she has to do it all while sober, her son only have her and she will give her best to be a good mother for him

She remembers the moment she had Taylor, she's saying goodbye to her teenage life with partying and drinking

"You're no fun Hails, who knows maybe you can get a boyfriend this time. You still young, beautiful and not to mention independent, many men out there would love to go out with you" Jessica encouraging her

"You know I don't have time for dating, Jess and man at my age will back away when they heard about Taylor" Hailey reply waving her hand off

She's only twenty-four years old and already being a single mother of a five years old son, nobody in her age wanted to date a woman like her. Nobody wants a woman with too much baggage

No matter how attractive you are if you already had a child at such a young age many men will back away, not that she regrets it though, she had enough relationship drama in the past and for now, her only focus is her son

And she doesn't know if she can start another relationship with another man when the man from her past still haunt her, when he still holds her heart

Jessica rolled her eyes at her statement "You never know till you start to open up, who knows maybe somewhere out there there's someone who's waiting for you"
