Chapter Five

Daniel

Daniel was looking into the view from his office, he looks at the city in front of him with indifference

It's always been work, work and work for him, all he's been doing all this time is working. He barely had time to himself let alone to people around him

It's not always like this at first but with working hard he gets to clear up his mind

From his office window, he can see people going around while he feeling like he's been trapped in this place, how long ago since he feels so relaxed? What is the last time since he going to the park and just take a stroll? He can't even remember when the last time he visiting his own family

He is going to get married in a few months from now but it all felt so wrong. All wrong. He doesn't want to feel like that but he doesn't know why the feeling of wrongness come to him

Daniel never thought that one day he will be marrying Stacy, his own friend

The wedding is more for business purposes than his and Stacy personal needs and also because Stacy had asked him to help her, Stacy is the granddaughter of one of his business partner, and marrying her would be good for their business

Stacy agree to marry him because she too already had a problem of her own and marrying him would help her solve her problems, at least the majority of it

Stacy is smart and beautiful but most importantly she is his friend, it rather her than any woman he doesn't know and arrange married is pretty common among in his circle of friends and family especially as a businessman like him

And these few months Stacy has been a great company to him and they often meet just to have a few drinks together or just talking about their problems

But of course, he had been careful not to get drunk and making the same mistake he made with Hailey the only woman that he always want is Hailey. He secretly had a major crush on her in the past and he knows the feeling is still there, her decision to leave has broken his heart especially when she refused to talk about what happened between the two of them just before she goes away, just before she left him and their friends

Daniel always has a soft spot for his friend who six years ago starts to avoiding him and cut all the communication between them. Hailey Rose Jameson. She probably doesn't know this but he has loved her all this time and even after a few years without seeing her, he can't stop thinking about her and her well-being and he doesn't understand why suddenly she runs away from them, from him

Back then they rarely kept secrets from each other, Hailey will always tell him hers while he always told her his and together they seek comfort in each other. He always feels comfortable around her especially when he had his own problems regarding his own family

As close as they get, their relationship is never been in a romantic direction because Hailey has never seen him that way and he was sure of it, She never cheated on Thomas with him, she is not that kind of person

That night was the only night they ever had an intimate moment together and that's all, the night was magical for him and he has no regrets but he also feels guilty because Thomas is also his best friend and even if it's feel right the truth is their actions were wrong and it can't happen again

Hailey is never been his in the first place, she always belongs to someone else

Daniel took the photo frame on his desk and see it with a sad smile, there's a photo with the five of them. In that photo, Stacy was hugging Jake in the middle and he was holding Hailey beside Thomas. The photo was taken at the beach when the five of them sneaking out one night to have a beach party along with their high school friends. How he missed her and their interaction so much
