❣Chapter 1❣

Dawn just broke, the sky glowing with a gorgeous mix of orange, red and yellow. Prince Bang Chan couldn't help but breathe in the morning air. It had just rain the other night leaving a lovely smell.

As he walked aside the garden with his bag sling over his shoulder, he wondered where was the person he was supposed to meet. "She isn't in the usual spot... " He said becoming unsure whether to wait or not.

"Chan!" You called his name causing him to turned around. You were wearing a white dress with blue at the very edges, you wore a flower crown on your head while holding another one.

"Such a lovely morning, it's even more lovely since it's your birthday Princess Y/N." He said following with a bow. You face showed disappointment when he looked at you again. "I said you can call me Y/N. Don't need to be so formal and uptight..." You pouted holding the crown in her hands tightly.

"My apologies but manners must always come first. You should know now that you are 18." He said with a wink. You couldn't help but blushed at the action and looked away in embarrassment. It was true, manners do come first but you felt like it wasn't really necessary to act so 'fake' in front of her childhood friend.

"A-Anyway! I made this for you!" You said shoving the crown to his chest not even looking at him. "Thank you, it looks lovely." He smiled, he placed the flower crown on his head and gave a bigger smile. It was surprisingly stable.

You couldn't help but do the same thing when you looked. "Oh, I nearly forgot my purpose of this visit. I came bearing a gift." He said taking a small box out of his bag and placing it on your hands. You opened it to see a beautiful emerald necklace. "Chan, this is such an amazing gift! Thank you!" You gushed. Taking out the jewellery, you stared at the gem with a delightful look. Although he comes bearing gifts every year, you always appreciated every single one.

"Let me help." He offered and she willingly accepts. You turned around so your back was facing him. He took the necklace from your hands and wrapped the silver chain around your neck, his fingers slightly brushing hee skin causing heat to come up to your face.

Once he finished hooking the chain together, you turned around to face him again. "The necklace suits you." He said with a soft smile. You fiddled with the necklace clearly happy about it.

Out of the corner of your eye, you noticed that the maids and servant were rushing towards the palace.

" Oh! Father must have returned! I must leave but we shall meet again soon!" Without any warning, you wrapped your arms around Chan tightly. He was taken aback but returned the gesture quickly.

You waved goodbye and ran as fast as your dress would let you and placing the necklace back in its box. A heavy sigh escape Bang Chan as he stared at you running. "Well, today is the day. Better not disappoint father."

"Father! You have returned!" You said as you stopped in front of the king. Ruler of Hyacinth, the biggest and most powerful kingdom in all of the country, many people outside the kingdom are convinced that he is a frightening and cruel king seeing how loyal his people are but everyone inside knew his true personality.

With a huge smile, he carried you and spun you around causing you to laugh. "Pumpkin! You are so big now! Do you miss me?" He said as soon as he put you down. You had to take a second to come back to your senses as you felt dizzy after spinning. "Of course I did! I was really scared you wouldn't come back for my birthday..." You replied with a worried look and still feeling slightly light-headed.

"How dare you accuse me of forgetting? I would never forgive myself for forgetting your 18!" He said placing his hand on his head in a dramatic way. You couldn't help but laugh at this, your father always knew how to cheer you up.

"King F/N, the guests will be arriving soon." One of the servants announce. "Guests? What guests? I wasn't informed?" You asked tilting your head trying to remember if you have forgotten something about today's schedule. You weren't the type to forgot so you were curious.

"Oh, I forgot to mention. You are getting married!"
