Letha stood beside Elijah, mimicking his confident posture though inside she was crumbling. The home she grew up in looked so different — the grass was a little less green, the house a little duller — it didn't have a parents love anymore.

She knew she probably didn't look as strong as she would've liked to portray herself as, with unkempt hair and comfortable non-colourful clothes. Not her best look.

The original knocked the door politely, the two stating stoically at a shocked Elena. Her sister looked at her guiltily as she called out, "Stefan."

Stefan and Matt approached warily. The Salvatore swallowing thickly as he realised the trouble they were in, "Elijah."

"Hello again."

—————

"All we need is to take that stake away from him. Once he's been disarmed, the weapon's in my possession, my family will scatter to the ends of the Earth and Alaric will follow us." Letha sat beside Elijah at the table across from; Matt, Stefan and Elena. She had been nervous about this meeting, but she knew Elijah was meticulous and careful with how he worded his deals. Something the Salvatore's weren't smart enough to think about.

"And you'll just run?"

"We've done it before. Klaus and Rebekah spent the better part of a thousand years evading my father. What's another half century while Elena is able to live out the rest of her natural life?" Elijah clasped her shaking hand under the table, the Gilbert girl taking a deep calming breath.

"We've finally stopped him, Elijah. After everything that he's done to us, I can't just let you bring him back." Elena pleaded, "I'm sorry, Letha. I just don't know if I can."

"I give you my word, Elena. I will not revive Klaus within yours nor even within your children's lifetimes. Perhaps that will finally teach him some manners."

"Why should she trust you? All you've done is screw her over." Elijah had promised not to revive Klaus, so he wouldn't be screwing her over if say Letha or Rebekah undaggered him.

"And for that, I am deeply ashamed. But know this, she could have been dead the instant I walked through that door tonight, so Elena, I leave it to you to make the decision whether to trust me or not."

Letha rolled her eyes and let out a dramatic sigh when Damon interrupted from over the phone — she was staying quiet as not to get angry and ruin their deal — no matter how much she wanted to scream, "Not! Hello? Did that concussion give you brain damage?! His lunatic siblings will kill you the first chance they get!"
