Mel's POV

We had returned from our first practice a few minutes ago and I was sitting with Abby and Crystal at a table in the dining room. Slowly I stirred my cereal. We were off until 2 pm, but I had an appointment with the physios at 11.30 am. But until then there were still two hours in which I could have breakfast comfortably. Theoretically.

Tomorrow we had the whole day off, because some of us got visits from their friends or relatives. Somehow I regretted it that I had not told my father about it. But probably he couldn't come anyway...

"Mel, hey?!" Crystal's words ripped me out of my thoughts and I looked up from my cereal.

"Huh?"

"Were you even listening to us?" Abby wanted to know and I looked up at my breakfast again.

"Um... no. I'm sorry..."

"Is everything okay?" asked Crystal and I nodded slightly.

"Sure. I'm just not very hungry right now..." I explained.

"We saw that. We're done and you haven't even taken a bite..." Abby said and I shrugged my shoulders slightly.

"You don't have to wait. Really, you don't."

They both looked at me for a second and then took their trays away.

I started to eat my cereal and had actually expected at least Abby to come back. She didn't usually give up that easily. To my surprise Alex sat down at the table with me and smiled slightly.

"Can I join you?" she asked and I nodded slightly.

Then I continued to eat in silence while Alex apparently tried to figure me out.

"How do you like London so far?" she asked cautiously and I shrugged my shoulders.

"It's all right. The team is really nice."

"What's more tiring, Arsenal or the training here?" she asked with a grin and I looked at her.

"You can't compare that. Both are exhausting, but different somehow...", I replied and ate another bite.

"And what are the other Gunners like?", she asked and I sighed inside. Maybe I should make signs with the standard answers to these questions. Then I could just hold them up.

-The girls are nice!

-We are just friends!

-There is nothing going on...

"Cool," I finally said, and finished my breakfast. I still had to smile about my idea for the signs. That would be funny...

"I'd like to be able to look inside your head sometimes..." Alex laughed and I looked at her questioningly. What?

She got up with a smile.

„Let's go outside for a bit" said Alex, so I took my tray and put it away. Then I followed her outside.

When we left the hotel, she looked at me and I raised an eyebrow questioningly. After all, I knew her long enough to know that something was coming up. We were certainly not here for no reason.

"Now tell me..." I whined and Alex smiled slightly. Then she looked at her watch before she looked at me again.

"Are you free until lunch?"
