𝘑𝘑 𝘏𝘈𝘋 𝘉𝘌𝘌𝘕 arrested. Footage of a boy removing the plug from the Thornton's boat surfaced and head of the household, Cynthia Thornton, decided to press charges. Graylin had been left in the dark until Kiara told her at work how deputies had come by Heyward's to take Pope away, but that JJ had ultimately taken the fall.
She left work a few minutes early that day and drove over to the address Kie had provided her with. When she got there, she found herself in a clearing and in front of an eggshell white shack that looked beaten down with age.
The porch was curtained with mosquito netting that Graylin had to brush past as she climbed up the creaky steps that led up to the front door. She was just about to wrap her knuckles against the white-paneled door when it suddenly swung open, making her stumble back to avoid getting hit in the face. After finding her balance again, Graylin looked up as JJ stepped out while shoving a baseball hat onto his head.
"Graylin?" He questioned, surprised eyes raising to hers as he stopped before her. The girl was lost for words as she caught sight of his face. There were darkened bruises painting the entirety of the left half of his face. They were concentrated around his jaw, cheekbone, and temple while bloodied cuts split his lip and eyebrow.
