"𝘊𝘈𝘕 𝘐 𝘐𝘕𝘛𝘌𝘙𝘌𝘚𝘛 you with this platter of hors d'oeuveres, ma'am?"
The sun had just finished sinking, but Graylin knew that the Midsummer celebration was far from reaching its completion. She had just stifled a yawn when a waiter approached her and when she turned to look at him, she was surprised to see a familiar face.
"JJ?"
"The one and only." He grinned cheekily at her. "Do me a favor, and pretend you're very interested in what I'm offering you."
Graylin looked down at the plate of appetizers in his hand and had to hold down the gag at the smell of shellfish.
"Honestly? I'm good-"
"Alright, Kook Queen, I said pretend, didn't I?"
She grimaced, but obliged, stepping forward until she could poke around at the contents on the platter. "Do I get to know what the hell you're doing here?"
