THE GIRLS arranged themselves in a row on Lee's couch in the garage with Mickey hanging off an unlit cigarette in her mouth reading through a copy of 1984 and Stella and Amanda quietly trying to work through their project for American Government in faint whispers. It was the day before their eventful drive up to Los Angeles, the van already prepped to be less of a hazard considering there was more to carry inside these days.

In the middle of their rehearsal, Bobby leaned over his drum set out of interest to the girls that were seemingly in their own world despite how loud they were playing. "Marty?" He turned back over to his friend calling him, lifting his shades before continuing to retune the electric guitar. "Do you remember that video on MTV we saw this morning?"

The other two members looked onto the conversation occurring confused as Marty only tried to nod along. Vaguely remembering them having tuned in, he failed to remember what exactly he could've been referring to. "The one with Madonna doing—"

"No, the older one with Linda McCartney," Bobby tried to jog his memory, Marty immediately widening his eyes, as if in surprise, to recall the video.

"Right, right, Suzy and the Red Stripes for that track Seaside Woman." Not catching on to his friend's suggestion as was his intentions, despite the others chuckling under their breath over it, Marty tilted his head confused. "It was a questionable video?"

Lee slightly shoved him over being so oblivious to have him turn back offended. "We know that. That's not what drummer boy here is trying to tell you," He caught up for him, "He wants the girls on the EP."

Amanda, Mickey, and Stella all turned towards them over this confused. More over the reason why they'd quieted down than anything else. "What's going on?"

Clasping his hands loudly, Lee gestured out to the three of them amused. "We're putting you on the label with us."

"What?" The three of them asked simultaneously.

Mickey quickly tried to get some reasoning behind this, turning from her seat to face the boys properly. "And why the hell for exactly?"

"Paul McCartney did it and you guys are going up with us to L.A., anyways," Bobby explained causally, "Plus Marty had written a song that would suit Mickey pretty well for her vocals."

Stella thought this was still some sort of continuation of the joke and shook her head. "Look, but that's Paul McCartney. The four of you aren't, and possibly no one ever, will be close to that namesake. It's a different playing field," She explained to him and turned towards Amanda still finding all of this amusing, "It's nonsense, right?"

Not realizing the girls were waiting for her to say something in regards to this, Amanda quickly fixed her glasses to stop laughing for a minute. Considering she was taking the trip to good use and visiting colleges, she didn't even know if she'd have time for it being at the studio as often as they'd want from this exchange. "Look, it's only an EP and you don't wanna go asking for things you can't have so early on." She nodded slowly to motion over to Stella. "Plus Queen Bee here has a point, never gonna be Paul McCartney."

The boys then turned to Marty expectantly to have him taken aback by this change of authority, the girls returning back to their small activities. "Look, whatever Amy says goes—" They continued to raise a brow to him, causing for Marty to falter in his confidence and give in. "Alright, I'll try to talk her into it."
