CHAPTER 7

So many thoughts were going through your head at that moment like 1. What had Ronin said about you? ( not that you cared or anything) 2. Why were you here? And 3. How the heck does the forest shrink you to the size of one of those mini soldiers that everyone had as a kid?

You stared confused at the queen in front of you.

''So, do you know why I am here?''

'' Nope.''

You let out an exasperated sigh.

'' But, I have an idea of why.''

You perked up a bit.

'' I think it has to do something with Mandrake's tree.''

You raised a questioning eyebrow. "A tree?"

"Yes, As you may have heard some of the leafmen have been called away and that something strange is happening. Well, we think that Mandrake's boggens, the boggen that we trapped in the tree at the time that I became queen, are going to try and free him as there have been more attacks on that part of the forest."

"So what does that have to do with me?"

"If I am honest, I am not quite sure yet. It's all very confusing, the only reason that the forest would need you to come would be if something bad was going to happen and if we fend off the boggen attacks then I don't see why the forest would bring you here. Maybe it was just as a caution."

"Let's hope that's all it is, I am not sure what sort of help I would be if anything happened."

"I am sure there are plenty of things that you can do that would aid us. But in the meantime I would like to get to know you better."

You smiled.

" That would be very nice."

After a long chat with the queen, your spirits were lifted. And man did the queen have tea! Now obviously she wasn't mean about it as she treated her subjects and friends very well, so It was just the silliest things. And even though you subtly tried to get something about Ronin, but all that you could get was that he is stoic and hard to get to laugh or smile. Needless to say, you were definitely going to try to get him to laugh or at least smile. You didn't know how but you would.

One of the things that you had talked to the queen about was if there was something that you could do to help around the kingdom and after a while you both decided that you could help with the first aid things that you might need.

From a young age, while your brother was trying to prove the existence of tiny forest people, you had always taken a liking to plants and what they could do to help people, it was also something that you had pursued in school up until your unfortunate happenings. In short you were given a first aid kit and were to be called In case of a medical need. Unfortunately and fortunately for you that didn't happen often at all, as all the leafmen were skilled in staying out of harm's way.

The rest of the day was quite an eventful: you just went around (with an escort seeing as you didn't know where you were going) collecting herbs and getting to know the people around the kingdom. That was until you returned to your room. You were sitting In your room when you heard a knock, you opened the door to reveal I slightly cut up and bruised Ronin.

"RONIN! Are you ok? What happened?"

"I am perfectly fine. Just came to check if you needed anything."

"I have everything I need thank you. But I think I should clean those cuts so that you don't get an infection."

"I assure you I am fine."

"Ronin." You stared at him.

"Fine. They do hurt a little anyways."

You swung the door wider so that he could come in.

"Sit on the bed." You commanded and he did so.

You walked to the other side of the room and found a clean cloth and a disinfectant, and then poured some unto the cloth.

"This will sting a bit." You say placing the cloth to his cuts.

He winced a little. And then looked at you.

(RONIN'S POV)

I looked at her face and was a little surprised at the face she was making. Her tongue slightly out of her mouth as she concentrated on the task at hand. It was really cute, and she was so close and moving closer the harder she concentrated.

"You know, it's really cute when you concentrate." I hadn't meant to say that out loud. But the reaction is equally as cute. You looked into my eyes, we were only inches apart and stopped what you were doing as if not thinking that you had heard me, blushing you pulled away and immediately started to stutter out a thank you. I stood realizing the effect the comment had on you.

"Well, thank you y/n for that it feels a lot better now. And sorry if I made you feel uncomfortable. I will be going now, goodnight."

"G-good n-night.

Sorry it has been such a long time since I last posted anything. I am kinda in a rough spot right now and everything has been very stressful lately.
