I need space,
Yet not the one that hangs above us.
I need room,
But not where I lay my thoughtful mind.
I need peace,
Not the one from a shattered glass.
I need love,
Not the one in romance books.

I need joy,
The one that comes from the sun within us.
I need laughter,
That erupts a bright white crystal smile.
I need hope,
That dwells in the beating heart of the family.
I need support,
From those who love me.

I need so many things,
But what do I really want?
I want it all, yet I would feel greedy.
For it is a vast canyon within me,
To be filled.
I need to want,
But I want to need.
