———   GEORGES POV   ———

George stood in the middle of the airport. It was obvious to anyone who looked that george was nervous.

The night before, George had stayed up thinking- to make sure his time with dream went perfectly, George made the decision to act completely 100% normal around dream. nothing even remotely sus, flirty, or suggestive. Of course this wouldn't be easy but it was what george had to do. It had to go perfect.

Dream should be there any minute, he had just texted that he was waiting for his luggage. George took a few deep breaths and started scanning the room for any tall blondes.

——— DREAMS POV ———

Dream eagerly walked through the airport to where he knew George would be. This was it. This was the big moment. He was finally going to meet his best friend.

He was inevitably just as nervous as George but he couldn't deny how excited he was. Just the thought of being in the same city as george gave him butterflies.

There he was. Dream recognized his best friends face immediately in the crowd.

"George!" Dream shouted waving a hand

Georges face lit up and they started walking toward each other.

Dream couldn't contain himself and before they could say a word he wrapped george into his arms. But it didn't feel as he imagined it would.

George just stood there, still and stiff, barely reaching up to hug back. Dream pulled back begging himself not to be awkward which of course he was.

"Hi"

"Hi"

"...Hi"

They both started laughing a little, cutting the growing tension in the air.

"so um how was your flight?" george asked.

"it was good, i slept most of the way" dream replied with an odd look in his eyes.

"oh that's cool.... um should we walk out to my car" George replied and started walking

Dream paused and then said

"George whats up with you? are you ok? you seem off." Dream was afraid he came off too rude, he was just curious.

"yeah of course sorry i'm fine, just tried i guess, sorry" George lied, turning away to hide his now pink cheeks.

It was obvious there was something else up but Dream knew not to pry. George had always been pretty closed off, even with his best friend, so Dream left it at that.

He couldn't help but be a little bit disappointed in their first meeting but it didn't matter now. All that mattered was that they were finally together.

—————

The drive to Clays hotel went fairly well. George finally started loosening up a bit, and they played some of their favorite songs.

"Right well, here you go" George said after he pulled up in front of the hotel entrance.

"You aren't gonna come up with me?" Clay said a receiving a confused look from George. "You know to help me with my bags and stuff." He tried you save himself. Did george not want to hangout with him?
