GAEUN DIDN'T THINK SHE WAS THAT HEAVY. sure, she wasn't exactly the ideal weight for her height, but she wasn't discontent with her body at all. she was smack in the middle and she thought that was no problem. so when the chunk of rubble she was leaning onto gave out and tipped over, she initially felt embarrassment churn in her gut. however, that feeling instantly dissipated as the fear kicked in. her entire body lurched forward and the next thing gaeun knew, she was dangling in the air with barely a grip on the piece that managed to wedge itself halfway.
maybe if she had received some sort of training like the rest of the class 1-A students, this type of situation wouldn't have been such a big deal. however, for an ordinary human being, who wasn't exactly prepared to put her life on the line, gaeun was petrified. she clutched onto the edge with all her might and tried to ignore the fact that she had a severe phobia of heights.
'don't look, don't fucking look. i swear, if you–'
even as her mind told herself not to, gaeun's trembling eyes dropped to the floor below her and that's when the scream she was trying to desperately hold back erupted from her throat.
