Thoughts and Poems are the Same Thing

Hey guys! I'm working on writing another novel (probably not to be published on Wattpad...I'm either going to use it for a thesis at college, or send it to literary agents, or both). This novel is going to feature a lot of poems, and I wanted to include some of them here!

Tied together for eternity

I never thought you'd go

I know we still have eternity

But it does not feel so

Can't I hold your hand again?

Why'd you have to go?

I know I'll see you again

But it does not feel so.

Come, take these steps with me.

Come, walk beside me.

Come, let us forever be.

Come, let us simply be.

Come, won't you dance with me?

Come, won't you laugh with me?

Love, let us forever be,

Love, let us simply be.

Baking a pie for all to eat

Something savory, something sweet

Dancing in the kitchen

Everyone can pitch in

Come and bake your favorite treat.

Nature always calls

The outdoors always beckon

Windows frame the world

Look at you, being one

A whole year said and done

There you are, grown so big

Wide eyes watching that whirligig

Dressed in pink, ready for cake

Don't eat too much — don't want a bellyache

Your father smiles, wrinkles crease

As he slices each guest a piece

We all watch as you dig in

And wait for year two to begin.

Sometimes life is sweet like sugar

And sometimes it is sour

But take something like lemons

and add a bit of sweet

And like life you have a perfect blend

Making it worth the eat.
