The night was cold despite the crackling fire burning beside them. By the time that the nine of them had stood in silence long enough to process everything that they had discovered, it was already dark, and they decided on skipping dinner simply because they were all too tired and needed to rest so that they could really start getting serious the next day. Creating a weapon using sanberries was going to be tricky, would use lots of supplies, and may be even impossible. But they had to try.

Despite Jin trying to persuade his husband to get some sleep, Namjoon denied the suggestion, saying that he wanted and needed to work through the night. Jin eventually gave up on trying and, and so the doctor went to go and check on everyone, especially Jungkook, before they went to sleep. After all, now was a good time to train and focus on their health as they weren't currently on the run from anyone, safely hidden in their area.

The cloudless autumn sky had let go of the pink and orange sunset that was there merely an hour ago, now charcoal hued and cold as it gave in to the night. The cold weather didn't even make sense anymore, considering the majority of the world was covered in lava and suffering major heatwaves, but considering they'd been I cared by aliens, temperamental weather was the least of their concerns. Jin shivered as he went over to the window and closed it, taking a moment to admire the deceiving display of innocent stars dancing on a surface so void-like and chilling. He clicked his tongue behind his teeth and shook his head at space, wishing that what was up there would stay up there.

Taehyung had practically carried Jungkook into their room after the younger male started complaining that the pain was getting worse, and Taehyung just scolded him for making his way upstairs earlier when he had been told to stay put. The two were now sat on the bed, entertaining themselves with aimless chatter when the door opened, Jin's head popping into the room and the youngest two greeted him with a smile.

When they had met Seokjin, the oldest had been rather distant from the rest of the squad, not wanting to get involved in any of this and not believing that Jungkook and the others had what it takes. But as of recent, Jin has started acting like more of a caring mother, as well as scolding the younger's ones and treating them like children. They honestly didn't mind; his authority was very welcome especially at times when they're confused or scared. Jungkook smiled as he thought of Jin working as a doctor in a hospital. The oldest was stern and serious, yet caring and jokey at the same time, and Jungkook knew that he would have been just brilliant with sick kids in a hospital setting.

"Hey Jin." Jungkook greeted, Taehyung acknowledging him with a small nod when the doctor walked into the room. He had to admit that he still had a small grudge on the doctor after the way he'd talked about Jungkook when they first met, but Jin was clearly making an effort to be helpful and befriend them, and Taehyung knew that any dispute between them would cause a weak-point in their team, and no one wanted that.
"Don't tell me you've got more bad news." Taehyung groaned with an eye roll, and Jin just sighed and shook his head.
"No no, I just came to check up on you guys. How's your knee, Jungkook?" Jin asked thoughtfully, the youngest shrugging with a small frown.

"I'm fine." Jungkook replied shortly, causing Jin to purse his lips into a thin line and hit Jungkook's shoulder lightly but chidingly.
"Yah, don't go pulling a Taehyung on me now. Tell the truth." Jin said, Jungkook chuckling a little at that as Taehyung just shot a glare from beside him.
"Real charming." The firefighter muttered, but Jin just tutted and ignored him, standing by where Jungkook sat on the bed.

"You've got damaged tissue and weakened tendons Jungkook, that's got to be rather painful." Jin said, placing his hands on his hips and raising an eyebrow as he spoke a-matter of-factly. Jungkook just sighed and leant back on the thin pillows that Taehyung had propped up for him.
"Fine, yeah, it hurts." He mumbled, pulling up the leg of his sweatpants with some difficulty to reveal his injury, bruised and swollen and clearly causing the younger a great deal of pain despite how much effort he put into hiding it.
"Jeez Kook, that looks really bad." Taehyung hissed as he leaned over with wide eyes, Jungkook wincing a little before chuckling and shaking his head.
"I've had worse, ask Hoseok."

Seokjin just sighed, muttering something to himself as he reached into his pocket, pulling an object out and placing it directly on Jungkook's knee firmly. Jungkook couldn't help but yelp and flinch in pain, causing Taehyung to glare and narrow his eyes at the oldest.
"What the fuck, Jin?!" Jungkook shouted, the doctor raising an eyebrow and pointing to the instant ice pack he had just placed on his knee.

"That'll reduce the swelling. Keep your leg raised and do not exercise for the next two days at least. You may need more time for it to become painless, and I have left two painkillers and a bottle of water on your bedside table. Goodnight you two." Jin blabbered, leaving the room with a wink as the other two watched him leave in utmost confusion. Jungkook slowly turned to Taehyung and tilted his head, the older shrugging and chuckling a little.
"I really don't get that guy, honestly." Taehyung mumbled, Jungkook moving a hand down to his leg so that he could hold the cold pack on it.

"You know, he could have warned me first. Jesus." Jungkook breathed out, the sharp pain in his knee turning to more of a dull ache as it began to take effect, and so he quickly swallowed the painkillers to make it stay that way at least as he slept. Taehyung chuckled, still looking at Jungkook with slight concern while he shuffled off of the bed and to their bags of clothes. He grabbed two of Jungkook's hoodies, handing one to the younger and totally not secretly peeping his abs as Jungkook took off his shirt and pulled it on. He honestly couldn't help it, Jungkook had a nice body and that's that. Besides, who wouldn't?

Jungkook couldn't help but smirk as he watched Taehyung get into bed beside him, the older wearing one of his grey hoodies that he'd salvaged those two years ago when he was left with only the stuff in his military backpack.
"Tae, why are you still wearing one of my hoodies when you literally picked up some warm clothing from a shop today?" Jungkook asked with a chuckle as Taehyung snuggled under the duvet, turning to Jungkook and shrugging with an eye roll as if it was obvious.

"They're comfier and they smell good." He replied quickly, which made it seem as if he'd been thinking about these things for a while. Jungkook didn't know why he felt his heart flutter at his confession, but he was quick to hush it, thanking the dim lighting for hiding his possible blush.
"Is that so?" He chuckled with a smirk, and Taehyung just hummed, pulling the duvet over Jungkook too as an urge for him to get some rest.

"Yeah, now enough flirting and sleep." Taehyung said tiredly but firmly, and Jungkook widened his eyes and blushed a little more.
"I-I wasn't flirting..." he tried to defend himself, but the brunette just raised an eyebrow, lifting a hand and running it through the younger's hair, only to smirk at how Jungkook shut up and immediately relaxed into his touch.

"Yeah, mhm, whatever you say, Kook." He chuckled tiredly, before turning over and succumbing quickly to his growing fatigue. Jungkook completely forgot about his pain as he tried desperately to calm his rapidly beating heart, confused as to why he was reacting like this. He clutched at the clothing where his heart was, eyes widening. Was he anxious? No, not right now. Maybe it was just the cold? No, that just doesn't make sense. Maybe... oh-

'Fuck.'
