Chapter 2

"Ow, shit!"
Taehyung woke up with a start when he heard a sudden exclamation of pain, quickly sitting up with wide eyes, only to see that Jungkook was no longer laying beside him. He literally had to slap a hand over his mouth to prevent himself from laughing when he saw Jungkook on the floor, seemingly having fallen out of bed. He crawled across the bed and peered over the side at Jungkook who was just lying there on the cold floor, rubbing his head groggily and hugging his knee to his chest in pain.

"You... you good?" Taehyung spoke from above him in a gruff voice that was thick with sleep, raising an eyebrow at Jungkook who's eyes widened and cheeks tinted pink because he hadn't noticed that Taehyung was there yet.
"Oh yeah, perfectly fine." He said with a scoff and an eye roll to hide his embarrassment, but soon enough the two of them broke out into fits of laughter as their serious demeanours were quick to dissolve, trying their best not to wake up the others in the cottage at these early hours of the morning.

Taehyung was literally doubled over in the bed, clutching at his abdomen and wondering if this is what death felt like as he couldn't stop laughing, tears practically forming in his eyes and his muscles aching from laughing so hard. Jungkook was now sprawled out on the floor, trying to calm down with a hand clamped over his mouth. His knee had given way when he went to slowly stand up so that he could get a cup of water, ending up with him on the floor in an awkward position which both of them found rather amusing.
"I... I can't get up." Jungkook said through heavy breaths as Taehyung finally came out of his hysterics, the older hopping out of bed and walking round to him.

The older chuckled, Jungkook smiling dopily and raising his hands up for Taehyung to take. The older reached down, lacing their fingers together and lifting him up and onto the bed as Jungkook muttered a quick thanks, and the brunette then sat beside him, fanning his eyes.
"Jesus Christ, I don't think I've laughed like that in years." He breathed out, Jungkook chuckling and hitting his chest playfully.
"Gee, thanks." He muttered, rolling his eyes at Taehyung who still had that stupid smile plastered on his face.

"I'm sorry, okay! It's just not often that you wake up to something like that." He whined, Jungkook shoving him so that he fell back on the bed with the younger hovering over him, making Taehyung raise an eyebrow.
"Funny how we're literally experiencing the end of the world, yet we've just spent a good ten minutes laughing because I fell off of the fucking bed." Jungkook groaned and yawned, yelping as Taehyung wrapped his arms around him and pulled him back into bed with him, chuckling softly.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to laugh. It was funny though." He said with a grin, his arms still wrapped firmly around the younger from behind, and Jungkook just rolled his eyes as he crossed his arms over Taehyung's arms.
"Shut up."

"Did anyone else hear a massive thud at like four in the morning or was it just me?" Hoseok asked, rubbing his eyes to try and get rid on the stubborn tiredness that lingered in his body. Jungkook almost choked on the fresh bread that Jin had made at that, Taehyung shooting the younger a look as the two of them thought back to what had happened a few hours ago.
"Nope, must have been your imagination." Taehyung said with a shrug when Jungkook practically pleaded him not to say anything with his eyes, the older deciding to spare him the embarrassment this time.

Hoseok just hummed and went back to eating, the comfortable aura in the kitchen quickly turning more serious as the squad decided that they needed to get to work.
"Okay, listen up." Jungkook said in a low voice, all eyes turning to him as he stood up from the table and leaned against the counter, strong arms folded across his chest.
"The girls can stay here and help Namjoon and Jin with the experiments on the sanberries because that is our priority, but I suggest the rest of us do some training today. We need to be at the best of our ability because we don't know when the entoida may appear." Jungkook said, his eyes growing dark at the mention of the dreaded mother alien.
