It was that time of year again; the time of year where everything spooky came out once again as the best holiday of the year (arguably so) came into full swing. Every being dressed up for the fun, including you and Toshinori. You let out your inner child as you walked happily down the street with your costumed lover, headed to a Halloween party that was being hosted by Nemuri, commonly known by the all too familiar name Midnight. There was no way you would be missing this party, but there was also no chance you weren't going to get in a bit of spooks beforehand.

"Toshi..." You began to say, leaving room for inquiry as you gently nudged him like a child begging for candy.

"Hmmm?" He rumbled, turning to look over at you as you walked.

"Before we get to that party, could we perhaps... Stop by the local haunted house to instill some good-old fashioned fear in us?" You finished, giving him an innocent look, begging for his approval with big, starry eyes.

He couldn't help but chuckle at your childlike nature, shaking his head gently. "Sure. It could be fun." He agreed with a smile. "Lead the way."

Your entire aura lit up with delight as you took hold of the sleeve of his undeniably adorable skeleton suit costume, tugging him in a slightly different direction now. "Sweet! This is gonna be awesome~!" You sang, heading straight into the heart of the city where you knew the best haunted house was, filled with excitement.

The sun was already beyond being set, an orange glow lingering in the sky as you arrived at the haunted house of your desire. It was advertised as the most intense one around, which excited you greatly. You wasted no time and headed inside where many frightened people stood, debating on whether or not they should go in past the rather menacing curtains where the true horror awaited them. Pulsing with excitement, you jogged up to the attendant who admitted people past the curtain, Toshinori following close behind as you were granted access after a small fee. Your little adventure began, now.

"You ready? I heard this place is the scariest around." You spoke, darkness closing around you.

"About as ready as you are _______." He chuckled. "Lead on."

You did just that, brimming with confidence as you marched through the darkened halls. An unsettling ambiance now echoed around you, oddly flashing lights and fog pooling around you where you walked. Spiders, webs, and blood which you assumed to be fake dripping from the ceiling created a rather unsettling atmosphere that slowed you, confident stride now more of a defensive walk. With the little vision you had, you quickly became very cautious, slowing as you proceeded.

The place had many short dead ends along the path, each with menacing messages that became more threatening than the last each time. You seemed to turn into one of those dead ends every time the path changed, feeding your growing fear inside that you kept hidden very well. Soon, you turned down a hall expecting another cryptic message, but instead the wall in front of you lit up with harsh flashing lights, revealing an extremely distorted, mangled, clown face that dripped with blood in the most disturbing of places. You leapt back in fear and stifled a scream, bumping into Toshinori's chest as the mangled thing slammed against the clear wall. Very quickly you shuffled around him and clung to the fabric at the back of his coat, very much done with this place before the halfway point was even reached.

"Giving up already?" Toshinori asked, barely rattled by the prop at all. "This was your idea."

You shushed him with a tinge of embarrassment, pressing into his back. "Yeah? Well I'm having regrets now. Just... Just lead the way now!"

He held back a small chuckle and continued on, reaching around to hold one of your hands with his. Moving on, the two of you walked past the frightening prop and further into the house where more surly awaited you, your grip on his jacket remaining strong. It wasn't long before the halfway point was reached, a rickety sign advertising so. The only concerning thing about it were the words 'watch your back' scratched into the material. That only made you more paranoid, pushing Toshinori forward a little more as if hurrying you would better the situation.

Oh how wrong you were.

Your fear was extremely visible to the actors running around the house, and that's exactly what they loved in people attending the exhibit. You had no idea they were there, and one of them took that lack of knowledge at their golden opportunity. The actor snuck up behind you and Toshinori with delicate steps, aiming their attack on you, the frightened victim.

"Toshi... Is there a shortcut?" You spoke quietly. "I have a feeling that being back here is no better than being out front."

"The only way is forward, _______." He responded.

Whimpering, you shuffled a little closer to him with a heavy sinking feeling in your gut. This place felt extra creepy right now, and you couldn't stop glancing over your shoulder as if someone was there.

Passing through a set of curtains made of something that resembled cobwebs, you thought that you were through the worst of it, the warmer lighting giving you a sense of relief. It was a false sense of relief though, as all the lights immediately shut off the moment you let go of Toshinori's jacket. Now shrouded in darkness, you began to panic and whip your head around in hopes that you would see something to give you a grounding on what was going on. You sure as hell did get an idea on what was going on. Not a visual one, but a full contact one. A pair of hands grabbed you and yanked you backwards, making you unleash a scream so powerful you could almost rival Present Mic himself. Dragged back a solid two or three meters, you immediately leapt back forward and grabbed hold of Toshinori, figures in black skin suits cackling as they ran off.

"I am so fucking DONE." You stated in a slightly shaken voice, rooted to the spot as you looked around in a panic.

"This was your idea." He laughed, quite amused by what had just happened. Turning, he fixed your grip and picked you up bridal style, carrying you in his arms close to his chest where he considered you safe from the taunting actors. You became slightly embarrassed, but the fear overrode that emotion as you clung like a child to his chest, turning away from the increased action in the dark.

Toshinori carried you through the rest of the house, straight through many spiders, cobwebs, leaping props, and scares that came from above. The actors even backed off, chuckling about how well they had scared you before. Eventually the exit was reached, Toshinori carrying you outside and into the moonlit parking lot out back where silly props stood as a relief mechanism compared to the horrors within. The change of light made you turn to see where you were, finally coming to terms with where you were now located. The fear now done, embarrassment took over with a sudden blush appearing on your cheeks, loosening your grip on Toshinori. He couldn't help but chuckle, carefully setting you down on the pavement.

"D-don't tell anyone about this. Ever." You stated, brushing yourself off and trying to stabilize your tone. "Especially Mic. I'll be the damn hoot of his radio show if he hears this."

He couldn't help but laugh at you out loud, incredibly amused. "Of course. I'll keep it secret." He promised with a chuckle. "You still look incredibly adorable right now though. How come you don't hold me that tight all the time?"

"T-Toshi!" You whined, giving him a slightly scolding look that barely made it through your blush.

"I'm kidding~" He said reassuringly, reaching out to hug you and even place a loving kiss on your lips. His kiss made up for the embarrassment, melting into it momentarily before he pulled back. "Now let's get to that party. Nemuri is expecting us."

"R-right." You nodded.

The two of you walked out of the parking lot holding hands, back onto the streets and towards where you intended to go earlier. Toshinori just couldn't hold back another comment though, and grinned as he dared to speak up again.

"I still think that you're cute when you're a little frightened." He said.

You squeezed his hand a little roughly as your blush returned, looking up at him with a very forced cross expression. "T-Toshi, I swear I'll... I'll..."

"You'll what?" He asked with a smirk.

"... Kiss you to death... Ass."

He snorted and squeezed your hand gently, shaking his head. "Thought so."
