Chapter 3: Nicknames?

Aliana's POV 

(Present Time) 

After feeding Xavier, we move on the main room

"what do you wanna do today Xavy?" I asked my little boy

"I want to paint mom, just like you always do" he said in fluently

"wow, baby is growing up so fast" I stared him in awe.

"that is becauwse I always eat mommy" he proudly states and i chuckled 

"That's true baby, and painting it is" I beamed to him and he eagerly nodded

After a while, I was finished with my painting. It was me and Nikolai on our back looking on the sky in their garden during his birthday party

"Wow that's beautiful momma" said a voice beside me

"Thank you baby" i said patting his head 

Flashback

I was in the middle of looking at the beautiful sight in front of me when the swing beside me move, I held my eyes to the person who sits with it and it did bulge. 

It was NIKOLAI! 

Gosh what to I say to him? 

Wait? why am I being nervous about it. 

Play it cool Aliana. Inwardly screaming for help.

"You don't like parties?" He asked me. 

DID HE JUST TALK TO ME??!

"Er,,, It's not like that. The party is beautiful, it's just that I'm not use to this kind of gathering" I said honestly.

"So, you decided to come out here to be alone?" he observed our surrounding with knitted eyebrows

"Yeah, I guess so" I said 

"Oh am I disturbing you?" he asked mischief dancing through his eyes

"Oh no no, that's not what I meant" panicked surge through me

He chuckled at my response "I was just messing with you"

"Oh" i relaxed 

"by the way, what are you doing here? Isn't it your birthday party?" I change the topic not to be awkward and all.

"Yes, it is, but I was kind of bored" he said

"How so?" I inquired to the person sitting next to me

"no reasons" he shrugged "so tell me, what are you doing out here?"

"uhm, stargazing?" I said, well it looks more like a question

"stargazing huh? well, to think of it. the stars look particularly bright tonight" he said while looking up the sky

"yeah, it does" I agreed with him while looking at the sky also.

Silence comes after that, we're both lost in our thoughts while looking above

"So" he cleared his throat and I immediately look at him

"How come I didn't see you when your parents came to Italy?" he questioned

"Oh, that was my exam week, so I could not join my parents back then" I answered

Our conversation flowed out well that we didn't know until it's time for us to leave. 

"well, it was nice meeting you but my parents are calling me. i think its time for us to leave" i said to him 

"so, how old are you Aliana?" he said.

It's just a simple question yet I couldn't answer right away due to him saying my name.

When did my name sound so beautiful?

"I'm sixteen! Oh wait! I-i mean fifteen my birthday is just a few months away so" I said shaking my head for rambling and humiliating myself for the second time to him

"Anyway, thank you for inviting us. You have a beautiful home and Oh! I forgot to greet you, Happy birthday" flashing a smile to him

He was there again staring at me; he just keeps doing that which makes around us awkward 

Then he shook his head saying "you're welcome and thank you for coming" he smiles back to me and I saw a hint of dimple in his left cheek

Gosh! Can't he be more handsome?

"Well Okay then, bye Niko" I said waving and suddenly gasped when I realize I shorten his name. Gosh! can this ground just swallow me. 

" I-I mean Nikolai" I corrected myself

Just when I turned to leave, he pulled my wrist and kiss my cheek.

I gasped at the sudden contact and look at him wide eyed.

"I'll see you around Lia" he smiled and wink, then chuckled at my reaction.

Lia? Why does it feels like I remember someone calling me that from before 

Smiling at the memory of us, funny how fate works on our side.

I'm so lucky to met my soulmate early. And I get you spend this lifetime with him.

"well, I should get ready your dad and I is having a dinner date" I giggled in excitement

"Why can't I come with you two?" my son whined

"baby today is our anniversary, a special occasion for the both of us. You can come other time, okay?"

"I guess so, but can we go to disneyland mommy?" he said while earning a laugh from me 

"okay baby, I would tell your dad about it. In the meantime, why don't you go watch television while I'll get ready?" I asked my little boy

"yes momma" he said giddily. I know, because he doesn't watch much television.
