M: let's start with names you first
He pointed at tomika
S: hey name is tomika
M: why didn't she say it
S: she doesn't really like to talk actually I've known her for 5 years and I still haven't heard her talk
We introduced ourselves
M: well this class is gonna be a band
F: cool
M: first we need a singer
Tomika raised her hand
M: can you sing something for us
T: (nods head)
M: ok sing something
She sang

Skip time to 1:29 seconds and you'll hear her sing
We were shocked
S: Tomika you never told me you could sing
T: (shrugs shoulders)
M: well your the singer can you play any instrument
She wrote on a paper and gave it to him
M: let's see, base,electric and acoustic guitar,piano,saxophone,cello and ukelele
We looked at her amazed
M: you can play the base
F: can I play drums
M: sure
We started setting up after we established who had what spot when I was about to sit down she started talking to me
T: (quietly) c-can I try
F: have you ever done it before
She moved her hand motioning a little bit I gave her my sticks and she sat down
F: be careful it's pretty-
I was cut off by her banging the drums every one was watching her she was REALLY good she stopped and handed me the sticks she smiled and grabbed her base every one had their mouths open
T: (gives confused look)

Once again our mouths were open every one was watching her and she ran out silently crying
F: I'll be right back
I ran after her I found he in the library silently crying

T: (quietly) h-hi
F: you ok
She shakes her head and cries again i hugged her and she dug her head in my chest and cried more

T: (quietly) I-I dont l-like b-being the center o-of at-tension

T: (quietly) cause l-last t-time was w-when my parents w-were making me c-choose between t-them
