My name is tomika I'm 15 I'm the bass player and singer in school of rock but I have a secret I have lung cancer it's hard to sing with it we were rocking out when I started coughing

He dragged me out he gave me some water and made sure I took my pills

My parents found out about the band were in the principals office

M: for a fourteen year old she's scary
T: mom mrfinns really helped every time my throat starts to hurt he gives me water,makes sure I take my medicine and stops practice so my throat can get better and ever since Freddy found out he's been helping me cope with it

Tm: well we thank you two for that but still you can't spend an education where you actually don't learn
T: he is perfectly capable of teaching us when ms.calpakis came back we found it hard to learn through her methods but mrfinn teaches us through music and puts it in a way so we understand like in poetry if we don't get it he rephrases it like a song or a every day sentence
S: I still don't know how he does it

T: all the facts point to it he's a good teacher and an even better friend

I was confused we went to the classroom she wasn't there

F: she didn't tell anyone cause she didn't want people to do what Lawrence did

M: before if she screamed you wouldn't care but now your overprotective and think she needs help with everything
F: she thinks you see her as weak she doesn't want to be treated differently so that's the reason she didn't tell you guys she didn't even tell us we found out

i REALLY like tomika I caught up with her she had tears streaming down her face

T: I don't need the fucking sympathy

F: are you ok? is your throat feeling well? OH MY GOD YOUR TALKING TO THE HOSPITAL
I picked her up bridal style and started running
