||Chapter Five||
Ire walked into my room with so much confidence as he took his seat on one of our sofas.
"Nice room" He complimented with a smile
"Thanks. I decorated it" Tade said with pride in her eys.
"Babe I brought pizza" Dayo said with a smile causing Tade and Jasmine to squeal in happiness opening the pizza box.
"Mobola do you want some?" Tade asked bringing me out of my staring
"No, I'm good" I answered as I walked towards my bed laying down on it ignoring Ire's stares
"So, you're Ire right?" Jasmine asked with a smirk on her face
"Yeah, do you know me?" He asked looking unsure
"Not exactly, I've just heard a lot about you" Jasmine stated turning to look at me with a teasing smile on her face which I ignored putting all my attention on my phone.
"You have?, From who?" he asked
"Just from people. I'm Jasmine by the way" She introduced
"You're roomies with them?" he asked
"Nope, Just a good friend" she said as she munched on her pizza.
"Babe thanks for your help with my party. I really owe you one" Dayo said as he engulfed Tade in a hug causing her to giggle.
"So this is where you stay?" Ire asked looking around.
"Ire, did you live in England for a long time?" Tade asked as she ate her slice of pizza
"I was born there" He answered shocking all of us excluding Dayo.
I looked at him with surprise, He did look like a Nigerian with his dark skin and all, but I should have noticed from his accent and the aura around him.
"Wow" Jasmine gasped her mouth agape causing Ire to smile.
"I knew it. Like your accent is just so thick" Tade stated with a wide smile.
"Oh, I didn't realize"
"So you were brought up in England" I asked surprising everyone except Ire who seemed to smirk at me.
Why are they surprised that I asked Ire a question, I mean he's technically in my room
I thought.
Well, maybe it's because you made it clear to everyone that you didn't want anything to do with Ire and now you're suddenly picking interest concerning his place of birth.
My subconscious stated.
"Yes I was brought up there. My mum is British" He answered making himself more comfortable on the sofa
"Oh, I see" I said averting my eyes from him.
"How are you here then?" Tade asked looking confused
"It's a long story, But I wont be here for long" He explained
"You're going back?" I asked as I watched his face change into a smile as he turned his eyes to meet mine.
"Not sure yet" he answered with a smirk.
"Okay enough about Ire, I'm here because we all have to go clubbing tonight!" Dayo said excitedly, Jasmine and Tade following his lead.
"What?!, You guys suit yourself. I'm good" I answered as I continued scrolling through my phone.
Tade turned her eyes to meet mine and if looks could kill I'll be six feet beneath the ground right now.
"Ugh, Why do you have to be such a buzz kill?!"Tade asked with a groan, Dayo and Jasmine agreeing with her nodding their heads
"Excuse me?" I asked feeling slightly offended.
Ire just sat down looking calm watching the whole scene that was about to happen. I can't believe he's okay with Dayo's idea. I mean it's a school night and our midterms are two weeks away and they all want to go clubbing. I don't think Tade's even done with her project yet. Sometimes I often question her relationship choices.
