"Watch where you're going, Longbottom!" Crabbe and Goyle cacked at the unfortunate fifth year Gryffindor.

Neville didn't care. He just wanted to find somewhere for the DA to train, to finally prove that he isn't some worthless squib. He wanted to be the one to find that place more than anything. Little did he know that the determination fixed inside his mind was exactly what he needed to accomplish his desire.

A pair of large doors seemed to materialise from the wall itself. Neville opened the door to find stacks of training equipment consisting of mainly dummies and dodgeballs, a large open space, which he assumed was for any spell casting, and a small black circle appeared in the centre of the open space, to put the dummy on.

At the Hog's Head.

"Brilliant, Neville, you've found it!" Hermione exclaimed, a huge grin on her face. Harry was too busy congratulating Neville himself to notice the stab he felt in his gut for no apparent reason.
"The Room of Requirement" Hermione breathed, clearly in awe of the perfection of their surroundings.
"Also known as the come and go room" Luna said. Zacharias Smith shot them both a "did I ask" face.

"Did we have to bring the know-it-all? I mean we all know she's just annoying and going to get in everyone's way, stop being so bossy, Granger, no wonder Weasley-" Zach complained.
"Silencio" Harry said coldly. He then continued in that cold tone "Hermione is probably going to be the difference between your survival and your death, so unless you want old Moldy-Warts to hex your balls off, or me for that matter, you'll stop insulting my best friend, and start doing what you came here for- learn."

Everyone was shocked, to say the least. Normally Harry had been so calm and collected, with little to no anger being shown to other people. He had just used advanced magic, then exploded at someone, then told them to pay attention.

Harry turned to the rest of the class
"Has anyone else got a problem with Hermione?" Some people shook their heads in shame, some still staring at Harry in awe, some staring at Harry in admiration (Cho), some glaring at Cho behind her back (Hermione), and an extremely angry but silent boy was waving and jumping about for Harry to administer the counter curse.

"It wears off in time, Smith, while it does, I would recommend reconsidering your attitude towards Hermione, before I reconsider letting you in this club in the first place." Smith looked like he was about to piss himself with fear. An angry Hermione was to be feared, but an angry Harry was to be avoided at all costs.

After the lesson

Harry entered the common room and plonked himself onto the nearest couch.
He was about to head up to his dormitories when a wall of bushy brown hair collided with him at full speed, completely knocking the wind out of him. He didn't mind though, because he loved Hermione's hugs more than anything. If he had a bad day, one hug from Hermione usually changed that. A stupid grin on his face, he said "Hello Mione"

Hermione beamed at him, making him feel lightheaded for some reason.
"Harry I can't believe you did that for me!" she squealed.
"It was nothing, Mione, I'm sure you'd do the same for me." Harry grinned back at her.
"You're damn right I would"

"Hermione Jean Granger! Language!" Harry mock scolded her, the mischievous glint ever-prominent. Hermione giggled and shuffled closer to him on the couch, leaning her head on his shoulder. Harry blushed like crazy and tried to turn away. Hermione took it the wrong way.

"Oh Harry, sorry, I thought... nevermind." she says dejectedly, and moves back to the corner of the couch. Harry wasn't having that. He shuffled himself over to Hermione's corner and put an arm around her. Hermione looks up at him in surprise, then rests her head on his shoulder and takes his left hand.

"I'm sorry about quidditch, Harry, I know you loved it" she burst to break the silence. Harry sighed heavily.
"Don't worry Mione it isn't your fault, besides I've got a class to teach now, haven't I?" he joked. Hermione gave him a sympathetic smile.

"It's patronuses next" she reminded him.
"I've been looking forward to this lesson" he admitted. "They need to know how to cast one because knowing Umbridge, this school is gonna be full of dementors in a few weeks" Harry speculated.
"Dumbledore would never allow it" Hermione countered.
"Dumbledore hasn't been doing much to help the school lately though, has he?" Harry finished. Hermione knew he was right.

The fact that Dumbledore hired Umbridge in the first place was astoundingly idiotic, and instead of making Harry a prefect, he made Ron one instead. Hermione would have much rather performed her duties with Harry than with Ron, especially since he betrayed her trust.

Skipping to the patronus class (I think this is where Umbridge finds out, if it isn't then i'm sorry.

The students were halfway through the lesson after Harry having to explain what a patronus is, and many questions regarding the types of happy the thoughts had to be.

Harry told them to start, and all 28 students were attempting to cast a patronus. Unfortunately no one did it on their first try, but Harry wasn't disappointed because neither did he. He went over to a few people, until eventually Ginny was able to cast a full patronus (idk the word) Harry praised her, then moved on to the next person, which was Hermione

Harry was surprised to see Hermione struggling with any spell. He moved behind her and put his hand on her wand on top of hers. She obviously blushed. "Try and think of something brilliant that happened to you, or maybe happy times with people you know. Pick the strongest memory out of those thoughts and concentrate on it. Then cast the spell" he explained.

Hermione was listening to his every word while staring at him. Harry nodded at her encouragingly, which snapped her out of her musings. She thought of when she was crying, after hearing Ron and Ginny insult her behind her back, how she thought Harry was going to side with them. She concentrated on what she felt when Harry pulled her in, how she felt when Harry told her he liked her smarts, and he thought she was pretty. She used the love Harry had gave her then, as well as the hand Harry had on hers, and shouted "Expecto Patronum!"

A light blue wisp emitted itself from Hermione's wand, slowly forming into a doe. Hermione's eyes widened and quickly muttered "Finite Incantatem" to get rid of it, which worked because only one person saw it before she got rid of it. The bad news is, the one person who saw it was the one person she didn't want to see it. Harry was staring at the place the doe previously was. He was about to tell Hermione how he felt when a loud crack sounded through the room and a house elf appeared.

"Harry Potter... she knows... she's coming!" he squeaked
"Who is it, dobby, who is it?" Harry demanded.
"The one that looks like a toad!" he shouted. Harry reacted immediately. "Everyone out the trapdoor!"
"What trapdoor?"

Harry imagines a trapdoor to escape. One appears in the middle of the room.
"That one!" he exclaims. Everyone climbs in and comes out on the other side of the room, running to their dorms. Harry ushered Hermione through, before going through himself, remembering to will the trapdoor out of existence right before Umbridge blew up the wall, entering the room and looking around.

Harry ran behind Hermione, heading for their dormitories, when he suddenly tripped on nothing and fell. Hermione turned back to help him but she also got tripped.
"I GOT POTTER! OVER HERE PROFESSOR" Draco yelled.
