It's approximately 35.2 miles from Liverpool to manchester according to Google Maps. It'll take an hour I guess. All we need to do is wait. Wait near the checkpoint at the Manchester entrance. Problem is, we don't know which day or time they'll come. Right now we're on our way there in my car.

"Do you think they'll be here today? " Alex says again

"I hope so otherwise, We'll have to wait for a very long time "that sounds so troublesome

"We don't even know what the truck looks like except that it's a post van " he whines

"Stop demotivating. I know what it looks like "I grin

He raises an eyebrow "How?"

"Rebecka sent me a picture of it "

As expected, he's surprised " HOW!? how did she get your number "

"Remember that paper she was supposed to find outside the window? I also added my number just in case. Thankfully she messaged me later on " we're getting closer to the checkpoint. I start to slow the car.

"How come I don't know about this" he pouts.

I ignore him and park the car. We walk towards the security check and try to find a good hiding place. My hearts already pounding too much and I'm all shaky. The police. It'd be trouble if they caught me.

"Lisa! Over here!" Alex calls me pointing towards the trees. Good cover.

I slowly make my way over there and hide

"All we do now is wait"

"I hope that today's the day," says Alex

I feel him looking at me so I turn towards him. When he realizes I noticed he looks away quickly

"I..umm...just wanted to say thanks...for doing all this" he looks so uncomfortable it's cute

"Well. A way to get rid of you AND save lives. Two birds with one stone " I joke. But deep down I suddenly feel blue. Sadness. Do I...want him to go..? Of course, I do! He's annoying. He likes to make fun of me. He keeps telling me to make friends. He's unbearable. He doesn't let me sleep! So then...why does the thought of him going away makes me feel...lonely

"I'd definitely miss you when all this is over," he says which breaks my train of thoughts.

"I see..." is all I can say

He grins and leans closer to my ear. I get uneasy even though I don't feel his presence or his breath.

"That was the part where you're supposed to say ' me too ' " he jokes.

I simply roll my eyes and keep staring at the line of cars being checked by the police. One is told to park on the side and get out. It's a bit windy today. Good thing I wore my black coat.

"Whatcha lookin at? "

"The van. It's not here yet "I answer.

The sudden realization hits me and I look towards the voice. Damn it! I blew it! Alex looks at me with a punchable disappointed look

Standing behind me was a red-headed girl with a smug face.

"HA! I knew it! I saw you talking to this one and wondered if you could actually talk to ghosts. Names Zoe by the way" she laughs

"Can you just leave us alone? " Alex says with an annoyed look

"Oh shut it. I'm way too bored and I have no one to talk to. So I wanna hear all about what you guys are doing " he exclaims

"Why should we tell you? " I say. Great...another annoying ghost.

"Who knows maybe I could help you with whatever you're looking for. You see, I've been stuck here for years! It's so boring! I get so lonely here! No one can see me so I have no one to talk to" she keeps on whining and whining until I can't take it anymore

"FINE! fine. Just stop talking! We get it! You're pitiful. Geez...my head. Ok look so what happened is..." we told her the whole story and she listened quietly like a kid being told an interesting story. I was actually surprised she didn't ask me to help her rest in peace after all the complaining. Odd

"By the way...how did you die? " Alex asks. I was curious about it too

"Oh, that? I died in a car accident," she says. I was expecting something extraordinary though.

"So. Since you've been here for a while do you know anything about the van in question "

She thinks for a second then widens her eyes " Ah! I see you are talking about that van with hidden children inside "

My eyes widen "You saw!? "

"I developed a habit of checking out the insides of big vehicles. Imagine my surprise and thrill at that discovery! " she laughs

"You found that thrilling..? " Alex says with a disgusted look on his face

She notices it and smirks "I did "

"Tell me what you know "

"Weeeellll, since you guys talked to me for a while I guess I'll tell you. The van will come on.....Tuesday! Yeah. Tuesday at noon. It's frustrating how they easily slip away every time they pass here "

That means we'll have to come on Tuesday " good to know. Otherwise, we would have wasted time here for three days. " I say and get up.

"Thanks for that Zoe. I mean it " I say while Alex rolls his eyes

Zoe stares at me. I don't know why but I try to ignore it. Alex gets up and moves on ahead. As I start to follow him I hear Zoe's voice from behind

"What are you hiding ? " she asks

I turn towards her "What do you mean"

"Being here for so long has taught me to read people. They lie about their license, not carrying any illegal armed weapons, etc to the police. I've seen a lot. Looking at you I could tell there's something you're hiding. "

"There's nothing," I say

Her stare intensifies

"Lisa! What's wrong! " Alex calls from afar

"You can go now," she says

I leave her and walk away. No one needs to know. No one. I'll take this secret with me to the grave.

"What was the hold-up," he asks

"Nothing important," I say as I start the car

"But....you look scared," he says in a worried tone

I look at myself in the side mirror. I do seem scared. As if I'd nearly escaped death. I'm trembling and my eyes are wide with fear.

"What did she say," he asks grimly

"I'm telling you it's nothing. Drop it " I say and start driving.

He sighs and looks out the window.

I can't remember the last time someone was worried about me. It's a gentle feeling that calms me
