It seemed like a normal thing for Frankie Hopper to leave and return to Hawkins. Being gone for one year after an accidental overdose, now being practically kidnapped by her mother and being forced to spend 3 months with her and her family, until Frankie ran away in the middle of the night.
Breaking up with Steve Harrington was harder than the actual idea of leaving. The two had been together for 5 months before Frankie's mother showed up out of the blue and took her away.
It wasn't the 'long distance relationship' idea that made the breakup happen. Frankie thought that Steve shouldn't wait for her, since at the time it was unknown how long she was going to be away.
But just as a year before, with Frankie's return to Hawkins, things start to get strange.
Being kidnapped by russians with her ex, her old best friend, the child she practically adopted and the sassiest Sinclair, followed by losing her hero was not how Frankie Hopper expected summer of 1985 to go.
