Name: Nagaysa

Age: He isn't aware of his age, but he's young

Gender: Male

Species: A melanistic spitting cobra

Wild or tame: He was once tame, but is now a wild animal

Appearance: Nagaysa is a long, thin cobra with glittering black scales, and a pale grey underbelly. He has a scattering of burnt scales near his tail which are rough and course. The rest of his body feels smooth, and is sinuous and agile. He has a flat head, piercing yellow eyes, and a black forked tongue. His hood is quite large, and has an intricate design upon the back which look like eyes. The hood flares when he's feeling threatened or angry. He also has a band of dark grey scales upon his underbelly near his chest area.

Personality: Nagaysa is a solitary individual: one who prefers tranquility over crowds and rowdiness. When his solitude is disrupted, he can become quite irritable, though his usual demeanour is calm and passive. But when provoked, he doesn't restrain his temper...though he does avoid using his venom, for it is potent and can easily kill. He only spits his venom at times, because then it doesn't have the risk of killing anybody.
Nagaysa is an intelligent and observant creature, willing to assist and share advice or experience. He knows about the man village, having been a tamed snake once, dancing for a snake charmer. He is more wary of humans now however, due to a bad experience in his past

Skills: He is very sinuous and agile, able to easily scale trees, and even nearly vertical walls. He can also move at very fast speeds, and is able to raise a third of his body off the ground to look more menacing or impressive. He can also spit his venom, which acts as a good defence mechanism

Flaws: He isn't a very skilled swimmer, and could easily drown in violent or fast flowing water. He also catches cold easily, due to being a cold blooded reptile...so he needs to bathe in the sun often. Also, due to possessing a long body, he can be strangled quite easily if one manages to catch hold of him. He also really avoids using his venom, even in deathly situations

Opinions on man, and the man village: Once he was quite fond of man, for he was a tamed snake, and his owner treated him very well. But then, after a bad incident, Nagaysa started to develop a wariness for humans, aware that some could be cruel and dangerous. Sometimes he visits the man village, but usually at nighttime when the humans are asleep

Fears: Fire, death, catching cold, shedding his skin because it is painful and itchy, being incapacitated and uselsss

Backstory: Nagaysa was once a tamed snake, owned by a caring snake charmer who played a pipe and earned money by awing people by making Nagaysa dance and sway to the tunes he played. At that time, Nagaysa and the man were quite famous within the local area, and Nagaysa was known as 'The Dancing Shadow' due to his black scales and agility.
The snake charmer had two baskets: one where he kept his money, and one where Nagaysa resided. One night, three thieves stole Nagaysa's basket, believing it to be the basket which held the money. There were sorely mistaken, when they opened the lid and Nagaysa rose, hood flared. The thieves, in their terror, kicked Nagaysa into a nearby fire and fled.
Nagaysa escaped with his life, but not unscathed. His tail scales were burnt, and his lungs suffered damage due to the smoke. Now unwilling to be nearby humans, he fled into the jungle, where he now resides

Other: His heart possesses a heart murmur, where basically a soft click can be heard alongside his heartbeat. (Apparently heart murmurs are common in snakes, and can be harmless, I read somewhere.) In his case, it's harmless.
Nagaysa's voice is raspy and hoarse due to damaged lungs, but is still mellifluous in tone.
Nagaysa finds it hard to resist flute music, for it feels like intoxication and overwhelms him...putting him into a sort of trance like state
