Chapter 24

When Yuri got to Seigaku the next day, she immediately went up to coach Ryuzaki, telling her of the situation at hand. She understood, gathering the team with the sound of her whistle...

"So, Yuri had informed me of a situation that we have encountered," Coach Ryuzaki started, looking at Yuri for a continuation. Yuri got the message and took a deep breath, preparing herself for the worse...

"My brother has informed me of something going on in his school. Apparently I was put into a bet," Yuri announced.

"What's the bet?" Fuji asked.

"The bet was that if we lost, I'd go on a date with Kazuto Nīsan's classmate. If we win, I'm not to be put in anymore bets in his school, plus I won't be talked about in his school. I hope you'll understand the circumstances of this, so I'm pleading that you'll win..." Yuri sulked.

The boys were both surprised and aggravated. They weren't expecting a bet to be made on Yuri, not to mention having a date with her when they should know that she is in a relationship. They knew that their opponent was Yamabuki, and she knew they weren't too bad, but she didn't worry about that, she worried about Ryoma.

She knew that Ryoma was going against Akutsu Jin. Akutsu was very strong, and he was known to hurt his opponent, and she was worried that Ryoma might hurt himself in an irreversible way. She had faith, but it was starting to dwindle as time went on because of her fear of his safety. Either way, she was able to watch practice, the occasional fall of a regular to Inui's juice was inevitable so she couldn't help it.

On the day of the match, she was happy to find that they won. She knew of Momo's cramped leg, but he didn't want her to say anything so she didn't. Ryoma's match wasn't one she was happy with either. Yes he won, but he faked his death and he made her mad. He got her to stop ignoring him, but she was still slightly mad.

Overall, they won 0-3, in Seigaku's favor. Doubles 2 was 6-3, Doubles 1 being 5-7. Singles 3 was Momo's match with 5-7, Singles 2 being 4-6, and sadly Tezuka didn't play.

When the matches were over, Yuri had to face reality, seeing as who their next opponent was...
