Five Weeks Later
********************

"You shall be converted to help the Ood. The Ood have seen your demise. The DoctorDonna once more; the Satan Pit has been reborn. You shall comply or you shall perish the in ungodly ways as foretold by the council of the Ood." The Ood takes a step closer, his eyes glow red, his sweet voice is a useful facade against the true darkness found inside. He raises his arm and moves the orb towards my face, I find myself unable to move, another Ood is holding me in place. "You shall comply, you shall comply, you shall comply," they begin to chant. I let out a shrill scream calling out for The Doctor. I can feel the electricity escaping from the orb, I will be dead in a matter of seconds.

Time appears to slow down, my life flashing before my very eyes. As the orb draws even closer I hear the Ood begin to chant something else.

Roses wilt
Nobles fall from power
Ponds dry up, and
Rivers stop their flow
What will become of you?
What will become of you?

I can feel myself shaking as I cry out for The Doctor, my guardian angel, where is he now? I let out a scream and collapse to the floor, the last little bit of conciousness slipping away from me.

"Jemma!" I feel my entire body shaking, rocking back and forth. "JEMMA WAKE UP!" I bolt upright and find myself sobbing into The Doctor's shoulder.

"Shhh, it's okay Jemma," he says while stroking my hair. "It was only a dream." I feel my breathing slow as I let myself fall into his open arms. It was only a dream, our encounter with the Ood was well over a week ago, we both made it out safely.

"Hey," he whispers. His breath makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end. "Are you okay." I nod and allow him to stand up. "You're with me," he places his hand under my chin, lifting it so that I am looking right into his eyes. "And I will never, ever let anything happen to you." He lightly kisses my cheek and begins to walk out of my room.

"Doctor?" I slowly stand up and places hand on his arm. "I'm scared. Can I ... can I stay with you?"

"I rarely sleep," he smiles down at me. He towers over me, making me feel like a small child being nurtured by her father, but he is so much more to me than a simple father figure; I have Rory for that. "But maybe just this once I can help you chase away your monsters. Come with me."

He takes my hand and leads us through a maze of corridors, until we finially enter the library. He inhales sharply and pushes open the doors. The room is breathtakingly spectacular. Shelves stretch as far as the eye can see; a large chandelier comes billowing down from the center of the room. The last teir falls right above a massive book, at least 5000 pages in length.

I break free from his grasp and run up to examine the novel. It has a red spine and a royal blue cover with golden pages that shine under the chandelier. I place my hand on the cover. 'History of The Time War,' it reads. I flip open the book to a random page near the end.

"It was on that day, the last day of The Time War, that The Doctor stole the weapon to use on all inhabiting the planet of Gallifrey. By traveling back to a small barn in which he spent most of his time as a child, he had found the perfect place to do what so many feared he would. The Doctor, his given name being-."

My eyes wander from the page as I feel The Doctor's hand on my shoulder. He has a sad look on his face as he leads me away from the book.

"That's no story to be reading before bed," he says with a small smile. "This way." He pulls us behind a long row of bookshelves into the back corner. He pushes open a door, almost completely hidden from the naked eye.

I can't help but laugh as we enter his room. I was expecting something sophisticated, quite the opposite from what it actually is. His room is, essentially, a child's playroom.

An train whistles as it circles around the perimeter of the room, floating nearly eight feet in the air. He has a work bench with countless tools and toys spread all over it. I smile as I see a pinboard hanging above his desk, a list of all the children he had encountered and something he wishes to give them. I take a step closer and notice the bottom line of the list.

Jemma Rose Pond ~ Hope

I blush as I turn around and see him staring at me. "You wanted to give me hope?" He nods as he walks over and sits in one of the many hammocks scattered throughout the room.

"Have you gotten it yet?" He asks.

I shrug as I fold my arms. After our frightful encounter with the Ood I think I have gained more fear than hope. As The Doctor was in battle, I knew he was fighting for me, but I saw a side of him that scared me. Amy had told me that you never want to be on the opposite side of The Doctor, that he will do whatever it takes to protect those that he loves and cares about.

The fire in his eyes was really what scared me that day, not the Ood threatening to take our lives. I know that I have always felt safe around him, but I am beginning to second guess that feeling.

I am thrown back into reality as I hear The Doctor call my name. His sad eyes are pointed downwards as he pats the area in the hammock next to him. I approach and give a small smile.

It's quite tight, but I snuggle in next to him anyways. We lay on our sides facing each other, neither of us speaking, just looking into each others eyes, trying to unlock the many secrets that both of us keep hidden so well. I can feel myself begin to drift asleep as I let out a yawn.

I roll over and he places his arm protectively around me. His touch leaves chills on my neck as he kisses me gently up and down my neck, I welcome his intimacy and touch. I sigh as I realize this is the man I have waited for my entire life, even with all the darkness hidden inside him, I will wait for him forevermore.

I have nothing to fear.
