Willow was going to spend her day with Lara and Poppy. A girls day is exactly what she needed in order to take her mind off of the rough patch that her and Ben were going through.

The two had respected each other by maintaining space between the both of them. For Ben, it was painful. He wanted nothing more than to call, text or even just see her and tell him that he was sorry and that he would never doubt his relationship with her again. Being away from her for so long proved to him that no matter what, he wouldn't want to live in a world where he wasn't with Willow. On the other hand, Willow had somewhat enjoyed her time away from Ben. She still missed him, of course she did but the time away from him made her realise that to be a strong couple, they didn't need to live in each other's pockets all the time. It made her realise that no matter what they went through, she was always going to love him.

"Wills, are you alright?" Poppy's voice broke Willow out of her thoughts and brought her back down to earth.

The trio were currently sitting in a small cafe in a nearby, out of town shopping centre. The cafe was small, cosy and quaint which was exactly what Willow looked for when she was buying her coffees. She liked to be able to sit in and just escape from the outer world for a while.

"Yeah, yeah. I'm fine." The brunette gave her friends a forced smile to prove to them that she was fine but she was far from it. Poppy and Lara knew that she was faking it but they decided not to question it. They trusted Willow to be able to talk to them if she needed to. She wasn't the type to sit and suffer in silence.

For Willow, the wedding was looming over her. It was only a few weeks away and to say that she was nervous was an understatement. She was expected to marry a stranger. A nice stranger but a stranger nonetheless. She was expected to marry him and act as if they were a perfect couple when in fact, they far from it. Both of their hearts belonged to different people and Willow was praying for Lara to find her a way out, despite being an atheist.

"You're thinking about the wedding, aren't you?" Poppy could read Willow like a book now. After all the times that Willow had visited her in a panic about her forbidden relationship with Ben, Poppy was able to tell when Willow was struggling. The brunette shrugged her shoulders and decided to open up to her two closest friends,

"I can't help it. It's in two weeks." She sighed and her two friends felt for her.

Lara couldn't imagine how Willow was feeling and she was lucky that she would never have to know what her best friends was feeling. She did feel a strong sense of guilt though. Lara had promised Willow and Brandon that she would try and find a way out for them but she had failed. She had failed her best friend and now, because of her, she wouldn't be able to marry the man that she truly loved.

"Your parents wasted no time in getting this knot tied, did they?" Lara questioned, beginning to wonder why the Hargreaves parents had decided to have a wedding so soon after it had been arranged.

"Yeah, I think it's my fault," Willow started, letting out a sigh of despair as she thought about how she had messed things up so badly.

"They were scared that I would run off and marry Ben instead so they brought it forward." The girl confessed, taking her two friends by surprise.

Both girls had met Vincent and Donna Hargreaves on several occasions and they both felt that they were the sweetest people to exist. They knew that Vincent and Donna didn't have any bad intentions. The arranged marriage was coming from a place of love but both Lara and Poppy wished that they would find another way to make sure that their daughter lived a comfortable life.

"It's not your fault." Poppy reassured her friend as she reached across the table and covered Willow's hands with her own in an effort to try and console the girl.

"Whatever happens, you're still going to have us by your side." Lara reassured her best friend. If she couldn't find a way out of the contract for Willow and Brandon, the very least that she could do was to be there for her when she needed her to get Willow through the hard times.

Just as Willow was about to thank her two friends and show them the her gratitude, her phone vibrated. She pulled it out of her pocket and wondered who it could have been that was texting her.

from: ben ❤️

i don't know if you still want space but i'm done. i need to see you. meet me at the field at five pm. i love you ❤️

As Willow read the text, she couldn't help the smile that appeared on her face. She couldn't be mad at Ben forever, especially when he was showing that he was willing to make up for his past mistakes. It occurred to Willow that he loved her and she loved him and that's all that they needed.

All they need is love.

a/n: hiya! So sorry for the lack of updates recently. I was so busy with trying to get my assignments done that wattpad was placed on the back burner but I'm going to upload the updates that I missed tonight and hopefully upload one chapter per day until the book is finished so, if I manage to keep that up, this book should be finished in just under a week!

That means that 'Ghost of You' can officially start!

How is everyone?
