You pant heavily as you run through the large overgrown park. Arrows wiz pass you and the faint sound of yelling in the distance can be heard beyond your unsteady breathing.
You peer over your shoulder, eyes going wide when you realize just how many Scars are chasing after you.
"Get her!" they yell "She must be sacrificed to the Prophet!"
Your heart thuds in your chest, the beating of it so loud that it starts to block out any other noise. As you run, you duck over dangling branches and jump over miscellaneous tree stumps and rocks.
"Stop! You need to be saved!"
You shake your head at what they're exclaiming and stop, eyes scanning the park in search of a way out. You weren't sure how many Scars were after you, but you couldn't risk getting caught by them, you needed to get away from them as soon as possible.
Seconds pass of you looking around, and much to your relief you find an opening that you can slip pass.
Quickly you run off, sprinting towards the small opening between two crippling buildings across from you and the park.
Just as you manage to reach the buildings up ahead, an arrow clips your shoulder, the head of it burrowing itself into your shoulder, tearing your skin painfully.
You cry out in pain and clutch your wounded shoulder, stumbling to your knees as pain shoots through your body.
"Fuck!" you cry out, squinting your eyes closed tightly as waves of pain wash over you. The distant cries of the Scar's grow closer and as you peer over you shoulder, you take notice that they're growing closer. You have to slip between the buildings or else you risk getting captured by the people your past group deemed as enemies.
Moving quickly, you snap the arrows head off and pull it out of your shoulder, wincing as the wood splinters, slightly embedding its self in the skin of your shoulder.
When the remnants of the bloodied arrow lay on the ground beside you, you slip between the buildings, moving swiftly along the small and crowded space as you try your best to escape the Scars.
By the time you reach the opposite side of the buildings, the Scars are long gone, your trail no longer traceable.
Taking the moment of silence as a time to yourself, you allow your body to relax, only to wince at the shooting pain in your shoulder. Blood seeps passed the deep puncture wound and you start to feel woozy at the sight of it.
Taking deep breaths you look around. Other decrepit buildings surround the area you're in. Grass sprouts out of the asphalt covered streets and concrete sidewalks, cracks of all sizes littering the man made paths.
The dark, clouded sky above you rumbles and lightening dances along the sky before striking the ground below it. Rain sprinkles from the heavy clouds above and as time slowly passes the droplets grow heavier, the speed of their plummet causing it to go from a soft sprinkle to a heavy downpour.
You curse under your breath. You not only had to patch your shoulder up, but you now also had to find shelter, if you stayed in the cold downpour too long the chance of catching a sickness or infection would grow.
