"HOW DARE YOU SAY THEY ARE LIKE US," barks Walburga Black at the two eight-year-olds as she slams the front door to the dark house, "They are nothing but MUDBLOOD FILTH!" Walburga's exasperated screams could be heard echoing throughout the halls of Number 12 Grimmauld Place. Kreacher, the Black's crude house-elf, chuckled darkly to himself as the twins were being punished.

Cassiopeia and Sirius Black had been dragged back to Grimmauld Place by their mother after calling their cousin Bellatrix out for calling a poor muggle a mudblood. The twins, being the typical curious children they were, had wondered why purebloods were different from other witches and wizards when they all looked the same.

"Bella," Cassiopeia began, "why must you call muggle-borns mudbloods if they are witches and wizards just like us?" This seemingly innocent question had caused the family dinner to turn into a hell fest. Bellatrix's face scrunched up and she could see that she had made a mistake. Sirius seemed to realize this too as his face went pale and he began to tremble in anticipation of what would come next.

The many adults in attendance of the dinner party hawked profanities left and right as the little girl clutched her brother's scared hand, not knowing what she had done wrong. Soon enough bottles were being broken as everyone tried to tell the girl off for saying such a thing.

"THEY ARE STEALING OUR MAGIC AND CHANGING OUR WAYS"

Cassiopeia felt her breath hitch as forks and knives were driven into the table.

"WHO IN MERLIN'S NAME TAUGHT YOU THAT HORRID WORD"

Cassiopeia looked over towards Regulus to find him glassy eyed and attempting to hide under the table. Surely muggles and muggle borns weren't as terrible as everyone was making it seem.

"BLOOD TRAITORS THE BOTH OF THEM"

Sirius gripped her hand tighter and began to whimper at all the yelling. He held on to her as if he would never let go and for that she was grateful. She felt that if he let go now, then she would lose herself in the pool of hatred that was being thrown at her.

"-BURNED OFF THE TAPESTRY" Her Aunt Druella screamed. Cassiopeia remembered one person who had been burned off the tapestry not more than a few months ago. It seemed like an awful thing to witness at the time but that was not near as bad as what she was experiencing right now. She would rather be burnt off the tapestry than watch her brother get hurt by people who were supposed to love her unconditionally. Her bones felt like they were on fire as someone attempted to hex her for saying such a thing.

"DISGRACE TO THE HOUSE OF BLACK"

A burning clear liquid mixed with crismon blood dripped down Cassiopeia's leg where a bottle had been smashed. Before the eight year old could reach down to wipe it away, her hand was ripped away from her twin's and she was being dragged out of the house.

She nearly felt relieved to be dragged away from the party, but it was shortlived as she saw the look on her mother's face.

There was a loud POP and Cassiopeia felt the need to throw up. Apparation had a way of making her insides feel like her outsides. Needless to say, she was not fond of it in the slightest. Feeling dizzy, she lifted her head to see none other than the place she dreaded most, home. Her mother's grip on her wrist was cutting off her blood circulation and would surely leave a bruise by morning. Attempting to ignore the cold pin pricks in her right hand, she was thrown onto the ground along with Sirius.
