❛ and there's nothing like a mad woman ❜

she watched and waited.

waited for such a long time that any normal person would have gone crazy, would have gone mad. but that couldn't happen to her.

you couldn't go mad if you were mad already.

she loved him, of course she loved him. his smooth words and pretty face ; how could anyone not fall under his spell ?

but she loved him more than most. and he loved her back, he would always love her back, or at least that's what he said.

that's what he said, goddammit, but she knew now that it wasn't true. it had never been true ; it was all a lie, a lie that she'd spun to make herself feel better, even when she knew deep down she was walking a treacherous tightrope.

the line between heartbreak and madness was a thin one – no one knew that better than her.

but just how far had she crossed it ?
