The Clarke family have reported a robbery at their mansion. Mrs Clarke's jewels are missing, along with priceless antiques. Sherlock Holmes comes to investigate and spots shards of broken glass underneath the window outside the house. He knows immediately there has been no burglary.

Answer to previous riddle: He put the poison in the glass of water, not the pill. No matter which pill the prisoner took, so ling as he drank the water, he would still be poisoned. Knowing this, the judge would not take the pill with the water.
