George had been aimlessly wandering through the woods searching for somewhere with reception for about two hours. When he got a call from an unknown number, he almost cried in relief.

"Who is this?" He asked as soon as he answered the phone call.

"Oh thank God. I thought you had died, holy shit." A familiar voice played through the phone. George had to think for a moment before he connected the dots.

"..Sapnap..?" He asked, raising an eyebrow as his face twisted in confusion, his posture relaxing a bit.

"Yeah. Call me Nick." Nick, who was still in his own territory, seemed to be both relieved and annoyed.

"How did you even get my number-" George was gonna ask, before Nick interrupted him, sticking his free hand in his pocket.

"When Dream left, he told me to keep an eye on you; to make sure you were safe. When you slipped away somehow, I was so terrified- me and Dream are still on a pretty thin line, ya know. He would've ripped my head off if you had gotten hurt!" Sapnap, or Nick George supposed, ranted. George's face was twisted with anger.

"So, let me get this straight. Dream leaves, and he asks you to keep an eye on me, and you just watched me rot away in bed?" George asked, his voice rising a couple of octaves.

"Listen, man. I wanted to go in there and cheer you up. I contemplated it a lot. But Dream said I couldn't-" George was bubbling with rage.

"Fuck what Dream told you to do!! Holy crap, all I'm hearing from you is that you listen to everything Dream says without even questioning it." George threw his hand up in frustration.

"What, dude- I don't think you understand how much he wouldn't hesitate to kill me." Nick defended, and George scoffed.

"Well, it doesn't matter right now. We can fight later. Dream's been taken." George informed the demon, and he just seemed confused for a moment.

"What do you mean-" He started to ask before George interrupted him.

"I mean guys in bulletproof armor with guns tranqued him and took him. They- They tied him up and gagged him and threw him in a truck and you need to fly here right fucking now to help me get him back." George was frustrated and scared, the words spewing out of his mouth and not giving him room to breathe.

"Damn, okay? Where the hell did you go?" George heard the clacking of a keyboard, and he let out a breath he didn't know he was holding. He told the demon, and he groaned in distaste.

"It'd be three days if I wanted to fly; Driving will be faster." George heard a laptop slam shut. He felt like crying.

"Thank you. I- I know he threatened you, and you're threatened by him, and I'm just a measly little human, but thank you." George was beyond relieved. The other end of the line went silent for a moment.

".. I just- Dream saved me once before, and I plan on returning the favor. Don't thank me. I'll be there by tomorrow morning." And then there was a click as the boy hung up. George sighed in relief as he dialed Darryl.

"We're gonna get you Dream. Don't worry."

He meant those words more than any he had ever said before.
