Chapter 26: Taboo

Koda POV:

As we just got out of the temple, the reef was different. There was less color to reef, almost as if it was sick or something.

Koda: What's going on? The reef didn't look like this a second ago.

Eizen: Not good. The Malevolance is getting stronger.

Koda: (Eizen?)

Magilou: My my, the effects are already starting to show.

Everyone else:????

We arrived back at Haria and already we noticed something was wrong. Everyone looked like they were all gloomy. There were also these black arua around them. Then Grimoirh showed up.

Magilou: Grim, what's up? Did you come to share something else you found in that book?

Grimoirh: Not quite. I'm afraid the malevolence has grown too dense for me to hole up at the Inn reading?

Velvet: Malevolence?

Koda: What exactly is going on?

Suddenly the villagers began to cry out in pain and the dark aura around them began to grow around them.

Villeger: AHAHHAHHHH!!!!!

Villeger: I-it hurts!!!!

Velvet: The hell? What's that coming out of their bodies?!

Magilou: Malevolance. They're all hitting their limits?

Koda: What do you mean?

Magilou then points them and we look. They started transforming into demons. It was shocking to see it happen to a whole village.

Eleanor: Demonblight! Even the Inn girl! Why is this happening?!

Eizen: They're demons now. Their malevolance is spilling over.

We all look at Eizen.

Koda: The malevolance...

Velvet: ...all that energy spilling from their bodies...

Koda: Are you saying thats whats causing this demonblight?

Eizen just looked away closing his eyes.

Eizen: ...

Koda: You know something, don't you?

Eleanor: Do you know what demonblight really is? What demons are?

Koda: Eizen!?

Abbey guard: They couldn't have gotten far! Track them down at all costs!

Eizen: ...we'll talk later. The exorcists are going to have their hands full with these demons. Let's get back to the ship while we can.

We then made a run for it pass the demons. We all quickly got back to Yseult. This town looked normal like nothing was wrong. We got back to the docks and listened to what Eizen knew.

Velvet: All right. Your going to tell us about the demonblight and malevolance.

Koda: And don't leave anything out!

Grimoirh: Are you seriously thinking of breaking the Malak taboo?

Eizen: That depends.

Eleanor: Malak taboo?

Grimoirh: This is far more important then just the demons. You could say it's the truth behind how this world really works. The knowledge can be devastating to humans, throwing into question everything they think they know... And so the Malakhim agreed to withhold it from humans... for their own protection.
