Bonus Chapter: Living life with Velvet

It has been a few years after the final battle and peace and balance have come to the world that is Berseria, for now. And Koda and Velvet are living their lives happily in Abbal.

Abbal/Koda's POV:

I was by the cape getting somethings for home and noticed a mother bird with her baby birds, teaching them how to fly. It reminded me of something someone once told me. As I watched, one of the birds was falling while trying to fly. I quickly reached out my hands and grabbed it from falling.

Koda: Hey little guy. You ok?

Little bird: *Cherp*

Koda: Make sure you keep practicing.

Little bird: *Cherp*

As I reached to put him back in his nest. The mother bird flew to my arm and handed me one of it's black feathers.

Koda: Why is it that birds fly? What was really your answer.... Artorius. (to himself)

I put the feather away, It was perfect for a present for Velvet's birthday. I came back to the village. Overtime, people came to live here. It looked more lively then it use to. Everyone that came to the town, knew Velvet and I were the only ones here. Soon after, they all chipped in and help us. It was like the start of something new. Velvet began to be more of a girl and happy again. Some of the villagers were jealous that I had such a beautiful girl with me.

David: Hey Koda! Welcome back!

(Author note: David is fake charater I made. He's alot older then Koda and looks after him sometimes)

Koda: Thanks David. Is everything alright?

David: Nothing to complain. The town has been pretty lively.

Koda: That's good. Do you know where Velvet?

David: She was shopping with my wife, Pressa. Sometimes she thinks of her as a daughter. You really found a good girl for yourself.

Koda: Ha...thanks. Is she back at the house?

David: She should be. Go, you don't want keep her waiting.

Koda: Yeah.

I then headed to the house. Once I got there, I noticed the graves and Artorius's sword there aswell. I opened the door and noticed dinner was ready. The house looked better then it did. Everything was all cleaned and taken care of. It wasn't easy but it looks like new.

Koda: Velvet, I'm home. Velvet?

I looked around and didn't see her. I then felt someones hands cover my eyes and I could sense someone was behind me, pressing up against me.

???: Guess who?

Koda: I know it's you, you can't fool me, Velvet.

She moves her hands from my eyes and I turn around to see Velvet wearing normal village clothes with her hair pull up.

Velvet: Your no fun sometimes you know that.

She then hugs me and kisses me.

Velvet: Welcome home Koda. I made dinner for us.

Koda: I see.

Velvet: Where were you?

Koda: Just by the cape.

Velvet: ...You're still keeping guard.

Koda: .... Yeah. We may not be able to see demons, but that doesn't mean that their gone. I just....... theres no one else that knows about the spread of malevolence in this world. I don't want to lose anything precious to me again.

I then felt Velvet hug me and rest her head against mine while looking at me.

Velvet: Your not alone, dummy. I'm here with you. We can do this, together.

Koda: ...Thanks Velvet. By the way, I've got something for you.

I reached in my pocket and grabbed a charm I made with the feather. She was surprised and gasped.

Koda: Happy birthday, Velvet.

Velvet: You made this?

Koda: Yup. I'm pretty good at making things.

I handed it to her and she smiled at me.

Velvet: I'll keep it with me, always.

Koda: I've got something else.

I opened my backpack and inside was a new gauntlet blade.

Velvet: How'd you get this?

Koda: The same person who made my sword made it. He said it's designed so you can replace the blades if they get dull even.

Velvet just looked happy.

Vevlet: Thank you, Koda. These are the best. now come on, let's eat.

Later that night/outside

I was looking at the stars with Velvet resting her head on my shoulder and sound asleep. The only thing that isn't different from my world and this, is the stars. I sometimes wish I could go back to those days... when they were alive.

Velvet: mmmm (yawn) You okay, Koda?

Koda: Yeah I'm fine. I...I just miss them.

Velvet: Hm?

Koda: Your brother... Arthur.... and Seres. I wish they were here with us.

She grabs my face and looks at me.

Velvet: I know. I miss them too. Not a day goes when I think about them. Even though, I still have you here with me. Koda... Don't think what you did was a mistake. You and I choose this path. And now, we need to do are part and look after each other.

Koda: ...Your right. I don't want to loose you a second time. I promise I will protect you. I'll do what I can to keep you smiling.

She kisses me again.

Velvet: I know you. Because I believe in you.

Koda: Hearing you say that, makes me feel like I can do anything, Velvet.

Velvet: Yeah, I hope this one isn't going to be as reckless as you.

Koda: Huh?

She moves her hand to her stomack. I was shocked for a minute because I think I realized what she was saying.

Koda: Your....pregnant? 

Velvet: (Nods Head) Your happy... I hope...

I quickly hug her. I could feel tears coming down my face.

Koda: Of course Velvet. 

As we held each other I kissed her.

Koda: do you know if its going to be a boy or girl?

Velvet: It's a little girl. And she'll need a father, like you.

Koda: Huh... I know im not the best but... I'll try. I'll protect you both.

Velvet puts her hands on my face.

Velvet: I know you will. Because your my hero.

Koda: Hmm... So do you have a name for her yet?

Velvet: Not yet. I was hoping you had one in mind.

Koda: Well... I've got one. It's not original or anything but.... How about... "Vola". A combination of yours and mine.

Velvet: Vola... It has a nice ring to it. Here's hoping she doesn't end up like you.(Giggles)

Koda: Or you.(Laughs)
