Merida: Warrior, Queen, Wife, and Mother

(Merida's POV)

Ah was never tha princess everyone expected nor wanted. Born to be queen of the Highlands, but my husband would be tha King. 'E'd call tha shots. 

Tha' wasn't tha way I wanted and I made tha' clear early on.

 Ah'm me Da's daughter after all. Ah took to weapons of war: bow and sword; rather than tha expected skills: needlework and music.

Merida tha first Warrior Princess. Shocked tha kilts off 'em fer sure. Mum wasn't pleased. Tha's 'ow tha whole cake turn to bear spell 'appened. Me fairy tale. Not somethin' ta be proud of. 

Some saw me as a heroine. Claimed it was tha witch who was ta blame.

Lies. Ah asked fer it. Ah gave to me mum, not her. So, when Auradon was roundin'up tha losers of their tales, Ah took Effie, "the wood-carver" to a place where Auradon had no idea exsisted.

The Barbarian Archipelago. She knew of it. Tha's where Viking enemies used to invade from. They stopped invadin' fer some time before I was a teen. Still, since Auradon barely were aware of this region, Effie would be safe.

An' tha's where Ah met 'im.

Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the Third. Son of a Viking Chief, whom also was not what everyone expected 'im ta be. 

It was 'im who helped me find a safe haven fer Effie, and a way ta return home 'cause a storm destroyed the boat Ah used to travel there. 

He flew me home...on his great nightfury, Toothless. It was then, Ah finally understood Mum and Da's relationship of love. Love is sacrifice and care for an individual.

Hiccup was curious of me world. He and I secretly traveled all over Pre-Auradon. There he opened me eyes to the injustice and prejudice. He was horrified at how easily the people dismissed their enemies treatin' them like dirt. As if they were not fellow living creatures.

Thus Hiccup made me swear an oath never to let Auradon discover the Viking Archipelago. He feared for the friends who once were enemies. For their tribes and families.

Thus our relationship was distant. As if a barrier was put up between us.

Then came tha chance we all hoped for. A chance to overthrow Auradon's tyranny. And it came in tha form of a lad.

Jack Frost. Son of the Nightmare King and the Enchantress, Mother Nature. He together with Hiccup, me, and other allies; was able to tear down the barriers.

We freed the Isle, reunited families, and even made the impossible, possible.

Hiccup proposed ta me, soon after the war. 'E said 'e always wanted ta, but knew tha safety of his people were tha price fer actin' on it. But thanks ta tha turn o' events, nothin' stood between us now.

Together we made tha Four Clans of the Highlands into five clans. Clan Berk. Hiccup, however, refused ta be called King. 'E preferred Chief. Said, Ah was 'is Queen. 'Is wife. 'E always bowed ta me in respect, but was never afraid ta speak 'is mind ta me. Me match in every way.

Now Ah'm a mum. I 'ave a little princess like me Mum before me. Valka, a little like me an' a little like 'er Da.

Now, Auradon seeks to disrupt my family. An' the families of me friends. 

But Ah swear, Auradon won't succeed.

Not if Ah have any say in it!
