"Okay bed time you two!" You call from the kitchen, hearing your daughter's fits of laughter coming from the living room.
"Aw come on mom!" Adam whines.
"It's late. Already past your bed time." You say to her as she clings to Adam's back.
"Momma no." She says, her bottom lip forming a pout.
"Charlotte. Time for bed baby." You say.
You can see she's about to have meltdown and before you can say anything Adam speaks up.
"I'll read you a bedtime story." He says.
"Yay! Dadda read me a story!" She squeals.
You smile, kiss her forehead, and Adam takes her upstairs to get her ready for bed. It's been a little over two years since you brought your daughter into the world and every day since then has been an adventure. She makes every day brighter for you and Adam and you both would do anything for her. It was definitely a learning curve but you love learning new things about your daughter and parenthood every day. Right after she was born, you and Adam decided that as soon as she could understand, you would tell her that Adam isn't her biological father but he is her father figure, loves her like one, and would always be apart of her life because he's always been apart of yours. On top of becoming her father, a couple of months after Charlotte was born, Adam took on a new role in your life as your boyfriend. You both finally accepted your feelings for each other and it's one of the best decisions you've ever made. You love him and your daughter more than life itself.
"Y/N can you come in here? I think Charlotte has a fever." Adam calls from Charlotte's bedroom.
You quickly make your way to her bedroom and over to Adam's side by her bed. You go to feel her forehead but stop and gasp when you see there is a ring taped to her forehead.
"Adam!" You cry, tears leaking down your face instantaneously.
"I hope you're not mad about the tape. I couldn't think of anything else." He says.
You grab his face and kiss him deeply, his arms wrapping around your waist.
"Yes." You whisper, pressing your forehead against his.
"Wing momma! Wing!" Charlotte cries happily, taking the ring of her face and handing it to you.
"Yeah it's a ring baby." You say, trying to wipe your tears away.
You admire the beautiful ring on your finger and more tears start to roll down your face.
"Why you cwying momma?" Charlotte asks, her little face twisting in concern.
"I'm happy baby. Your dadda is asking me to marry him." You say.
"If you happy, why you cwying momma?" She asks.
"They're happy tears my love." You say, stroking her hair.
"Good. Momma can't be sad." She says.
"I love you baby girl." You say.
"I love you momma and dadda." She smiles sweetly.
"Good job baby, the plan worked." Adam says, high fiving her.
"Tanks dadda." She says.
You both kiss her goodnight and when you shut her door you jump on Adam, locking your arms around his neck and your legs around his waist.
"I love you. I love you so much." You mumble into his shoulder.
"I love you too kid. Thank you." He says.
"For what?" You ask, pulling your head back to look at him.
"For letting me have a daughter. For letting me have you. I truly don't know where my life would be without you girls and I don't even want to imagine it. You both are everything I've ever wanted and ever will want. I can't wait to make you my wife." He says.
You kiss him passionately and tangle your fingers through his hair as he pulls you closer to his body.
"I want another baby." He mumbles into your lips.
You giggle as he takes you to your bedroom and shuts the door behind you with his foot.
