You and Carl are in the back of the group letting the rest go ahead. Carl asks you "Why?" You look at him with confusion and reply "Why what?" He stared at you and then he looked at your long sleeve shirt.
He pulls up the sleeve, points, and asks again "Why?"and you look down at the ground and say "Because I had too". Both of you walk a little closer to the group but far away enough so they can't hear you.
Carl's hand was touching his knife. You ask him nicely to hold your hand. He said "I will if you stop and hand me the blade and your knife." You looks at him speechless. "That's what I thought" Carl states.
You take your knife and drop the blade and hand him the knife your father gave you. "Thank you, you get this back when I can trust you with it" Carl whispers. You both run and catch up with the group.
You can make up the rest.
